Hello guys....

Someone on another forum is trying to trade me these three boglins for a Transformer of mine. My question is...are they worth anything at all? I know nothing at all about Boglins and I've never had any before. They look cool enough, but I'm not sure I want to get started in collecting something else so they may end up as trade fodder for people on this board..hence my question.

Well over here in the UK mini boglins are about as common as muck but they were never released in the US so they are harder to come by, I usually swap boglins 2 for 1 with M.U.S.C.L.Es and M.I.M.P and i have a few if you are that interested in some.
Glow In The Dark, Black, Silver and Gold ones are rarer so it also depends on colour and the Samurai tribe is quite hard to get.

Really depends on the Transformer you're trading. People here can give you a range on the Mini Boglins, but Transformers range from what, about $1 up to $600 or so? :p

Be careful with Mini Boglins, they're a slippery slope. I started out with like six on a wall shelf. Two weeks later i'd outgrown the shelf. Then they went on a large shelf in the toyroom. Then i outgrew that. Now i've got oh, i don't know...probably 160 or more sitting in a bin while i try desperately to find a display area for them. I should add that i started in like March. :D

mini boglins were released in the US, i got 90% of the ones i own in the US when they were new, cant say for sure if they released every tribe or all the different packaging styles, but the 20 pack boxes were definitely available here. they werent very popular tho, they sat in clearance for a long time.

Hwhat!? Do you have any of the packaging? Which stores carried them, and who distributed them?

Is it possible that, living in the Pacific Northwest, you were privy to some stores carrying Canadian stock? Or weren't they released in Canada either? I have trouble keeping track of all of this stuff.

was living in NJ at the time. bought at a toys r us in central NJ. most likely not canadian. cant say for sure why toys r us had them, but they did. they were in clearance when i found them, so they must have sat for a while.
that was pretty much my first "LRGs" as an adult collector - wasnt looking for them, just came across them and bought a box. over ten years later i'm still trying to complete a set. probably never will tho.
:)

*** i need to correct myself before a fight over semantics breaks out.... They were "AVAILABLE" at stores in the us, not "released" in the us as i previously stated. I've never been to a toy store outside of the US and i bought mini boglins at a store. probably late 94.

Oli,
i didnt save my boxes - i wasnt hip to the rules of toy collecting back then! :)
BUT, i dont remember them looking any different than ones i've seen. 20 figures, small window that showed only one figure. to me the box looked like a rat fink related item and thats probably why i bought them. and aside from the ones i got from you and a lot of cool dudes i got like 3 years ago, all the rest i have came from when i was in NJ.

i wouldnt kid ya, kid.
:)

maybe i lived in a test market??

Well I did the trade and I'm very happy I did! These guys are bigger than I thought they would be, and very detailed. I traded a Real Gear Booster X10 figure for these guys and 3 Doctor Who DVDs, so I feel pretty good about that as far the deal goes.

If anyone has any of these guys they would want to get rid of and they don't want a ton of cash, PM me and we can work something out :drinks:
