there may be some cross-over with the same figures appearing in more than one pack format as by my calculation if every pack contains unique figures that makes 40 individual figures. And that is assuming the carrier/game/mountain don't come with exclusive figures.....

I've just been taking a look at the corinthian mail order website and there are 3 missing figures!!! :p

I sepeculated on how this would work out in the post I've quoted above.

There are 40 individual figures in the packs that contain either 1, 3 or 4 figures and 5 different figures that come with the accessories. Each item has an individual pre-determined figure/group of figures.

For the record, I've seen no evidence of the 'confectionary' single packs containing one of 36 figures.

How strange that 3 figures are missing! I only noticed because I was looking to pick up the Ghost and the Poltergiest and the Ghost wasn't there!!!

Maybe they are planning on releasing a couple more play-sets to include these figures - this may put the relaese of teh three figures in danger if the line doesn't do that well.

"Future super-rares"? maybe....we will have to wait and see....

ok, so I got a response from the distributor about the three missing figures.

I'm debating on whether or not to post the response as I don't want to ruin the fun of toy collectors in the future debating on the figure's existence....think of all the fun that was had over MUSCLE figures and super rares... :p

Sod it, I'm not sure if anyone will even remember these figures in 20 years time :ulp: so here it is:

Hi Matt,

I can assure you that customer questions of any type are welcomed and not seen as trivial.

You are absolutely correct. 48 Monsters are listed with only 45 being released. The remaining 3 were going to find their way into another product but this has since been deleted for the range. The likelihood is that these Monsters were now not be released.

The confectionery line has been placed on hold for the foreseeable future.

Kind Regards

Simon Shaw

oh well mystery solved! I will be contacting the manufacturer though.... ;)

Man I used to love MIMP, my cousins and I used to play with these things all the time. Now I need to go dig up my old ones if I can find them.

So has anyone heard of an official date for release in the states?

Anybody have any of the playsets yet? I've got the mountain but it's for my son's christmas (so, it won't be opened until then, but it looks really cool) and I've got the skull case on the way. So far, these are the figures we have: Loch Ness Monster, Boogeyman, Wendigo, Kraken, Skeleton & Squarefoot. Tried to get the Frankenstein's Monster pack off ebay a few nights ago but was outbid...

The website says a Fall '07 release in the US.

I have a bunch en route, but only about six or seven in-hand. The paint flakes off too easily, but the figures are good.

Never mind, they arrived today. That's 28 total - about four more are still in the postal service, though. One of them is that Haniver I've been after!

This series has managed to make its way into my current budget, which says something.

I got my Haniver!

sweet!

I'm glad you got the figure you wanted most - was it through ebay or a store?

here's a litle snippet from a conversation with Corinthian:

ME:

I guess that means it is unlikely we will see MIMP again after the
current stock is sold? Unless it takes off in the states maybe?

THEM:

Your assumption would seem correct.

No plans for Gormiti.

oh well.... :D

well helo everyone lont time since i have been on here is all i know about the release in canada and the usa . i have been in touch with jacks and they will be going into wal=marts, target and most of the other shops. seems like a strange time to launch a line after christmas but they are the big boy toys distributers .well take care ans see what new items from moose comming soon wil let you all know soon take care .

Hello trista

The new line of Monster In My Pocket figures won't be available at retail in the U.S. or Canada until early 2007.
I believe the licensed distributor in North America is a company called Playalong Toys (a division of Jakks Pacific).
Perhaps if you contact them via this link, they can provide you with more information.

I got the figure from an e-bay sale. With the exception of the Mad Scientist, Swamp Monster, the playsets, and I think one of the three-packs (the one with the headless man), I've got the whole set. I think.

The Skull Case is decent. It's sturdy and made well, but the Monster Showdown set pretty much sucks. It's made from really ceap, thin "plastic", I only got it b/c the figures are cool. The Haunted Mountain looks really good, but I haven't been able to examine it yet. It is sealed really well unlike the other two. They're all Christmas gifts, so I won't have an opinion on the Mountain until then.

Very nice update!! If they keep the prices low enough, then I could see these being a major hit with kids. Throw in a few chase figures and you'll have collectors worked into a frenzy too.

Something to consider is buying any old ones now, while the prices are still good. :o

1 Pound, right? So that's about $2?

If the basic pack is 4~5 figures, then this will be a pretty big hit. It seems like something that could be carried by both the big toy stores and the small, independent toy stores.
