I need a little help placing the timeline or year of release of these 3 Kinkeshi. I know their names of course and that they are legit and not Pachi/bootleg; two of the 3 Kinkeshi as far as I know came in the Godaijou Kessen playset (or at least mine did). All have the YSNT mark on the back with the "B" for BANDAI as well.

The Godaijou Kessen playset was released in 1985; my playset came along with these sculpts (a total of 16 Kinkeshi):

-Part 14 Kinkeshi sculpts: #207

-Part 16 Kinkeshi sculpts: #224, #225, #226, #227, #228

-Part 17 Kinkeshi sculpts: #249

-Part 19 Kinkeshi sculpts: #268, #284

The Parthenon I just got recently in a lot & it was included with the Godaijou Kessen playset.

What I find interesting is that the Satan Cross, Bike Man and Parthenon sculpts look completely different from what actually came to be in the original vintage Kinkeshi line. All the other sculpts are the same, just the rubber quality is different and I can't quite put my finger on it.

My theory is that they might have been earlier prototype-like sculpts done by a different sculptor, since the playset came out in 1985. Through the original run they used the same sculptor for the 418 vintage line. The sculptor whose son now sculpts all the new Kinkeshi 2017 releases in the gashapon machines & Premium sets.

But these do not have the quality and detail of that sculptor; so it was probably another sculptor.

Assuming that it was months prior to the Part 20 & the Part 21 releases of that same year (The Daishi for Part 20 & Part 21 I have are dated 1985 as well).

They clearly decided to do better sculpts in the future releases (this version of Parthenon looks great but the Bike Man here is a far cry from the sculp #287 from Part 20 and the Satan Cross sculpt #292 we saw in Part 21 is completely different from the one in the playset).

Here is a link to my original showcase of the playset: http://www.littlerub...topic=256115

I want to display them along with my other vintage Kinkeshi but am kinda OCD and either I display them along with their respective alternate counterpart sculpts from the respective parts or just separately. But I would like to know the year of release if possible or if they even came with the playset or just mine did as an extra etc

Otherwise it still would be great to know more info on these Kinkeshi anyway :)

It's well known that these came with that set, unique sculpts that most people don't like, especially Satancross (Although he is one of my favs). They were likely sculpted By a different sculptor that did the main set, that's why they look different.

I would say out of the three the Parthenon looks the best but I also love the Satan Cross.

Its fascinating to me that BANDAI released 3 different molding sculpts for the playset but all the other ones are exactly the same (mold wise) etc.

At first I thought maybe it was the switch from Popy to BANDAI because the rubber just looks cheaper to me for some reason.

But through the original run they used the same sculptor for the 418 vintage line right? The sculptor whose son now sculpts all the new Kinkeshi released in the gashapon & Premium sets?

Am happy the sculptor decided to do a brand new sculpt altogether. Maybe by that point in 1985 he had not done a sculpt for those 3 characters and BANDAI had to find someone else etc

This was the 2nd playset I bought but I still dont know exactly how many Kinkeshi came with the playset since it was opened (I think am missing some if I just barely came across the Parthenon).
