Hey everyone,

It's about time I tried to identify some of these random little guys I've had for so many years. Let's see what you guys know...

Attached File  greenguys.jpg   174.63K   27 downloads
These guys I've seen around, so I'm willing to bet they'll be the easiest to identify. They have HONG KONG on their backs. I'm sure they're bootlegs of whatever they are but what are they?

Attached File  102_0235_IMG.JPG   292.92K   28 downloads
The guy on the left is obviously some sorta ripoff Power Ranger, but I have no idea if it's actually based on something. The pink bug guy on the right I've had since I was like 6 years old, so I'm curious if anyone knows what it is, if it is even anything other than some vending machine toy. On the back of his head it says Imperial in script with a little crown.

Attached File  102_0231_IMG.JPG   296.55K   32 downloads

These two little guys are both a hardish, but still flexible rubber and you can sorta see through them.

Attached File  102_0238_IMG.JPG   288.27K   27 downloads

The green guy on the left is a dryish, flexible rubber. And the lame-o orange guy on the right is very soft and flexy with HONG KONG on his back. Just curious if its a bootleg something.

More in the coming post... this time, interesting ones.

I remember getting these two jobbers in a vending machine. They came with little shoulder pads that were stuck on like toy tree branches. I've since ripped those off. But not as badly as they ripped off some poor toyline. Can anyone identify these schmuckos? It says HONG KONG on their backs.

Despite having a very similar look to the above guys, I got these two out of a vending machine YEARS later. They are shinyish, and the weird thing is, even though they definately look like they were produced by the same people, the bLue guy says HONG KONG and the green guy says CHINA.

Attached File  102_0236_IMG.JPG   290.54K   36 downloads
The orange robot guy on the left is a bit flexy. and says HONG KONG on his back. The little dino is just plain sweet.

The Creature from the Blue Lagoon is one of my oldest toys ever. It has that childhood eraser feel to it. The Frogman is a weird shinyish color and it says CHINA on his inner thigh.

Attached File  102_0239_IMG.JPG   296.93K   34 downloads
The Sultan with the sword is sweet as hell. He's soft and flexy and has HONG KONG on his back. The other dude is hard like MUSCLE plastic and it also says HONG KONG on his back.

Attached File  102_0240_IMG.JPG   272.24K   13 downloadsAttached File  102_0241_IMG.JPG   266.57K   11 downloads
And last, but certainly not least... Mickey the Rat. Before there was MUSCLE, there was this guy. At least to me. Yet still, I have no idea what he is or where he came from. I've had this toy as long as I can remember. He has a duller flesh color than other rubber toys. He's a bit flexy, but not a lot and it says HONG KONG on his back. Above all the others, I have to find out what this guy is.

The first ones are bootlegs of some sort of superdeformed series of Kamen Rider figures. I don't know why they've appeared so often lately.

The MMPR thingy might actually be based on a specific Super Sentai design, but I don't know.

Clueless on the bug, but Imperial is a well-known company of cheap toys. They've been making the same hollow dinosaurs for decades!

I have no idea about the robots, but they look sweet as hell.

The green eraser-looking robot is from one of various groups of cheap Gundam-esque or Gundam bootleg toys. I've seen and own some of these that are made of an even harder and glossy plastic, with holes between their legs to act as pencil-toppers. Clueless on the orange warrior.

I'm sure they're bootlegs, but I don't recognize the brown guys at all.

The blue and green guys are definitely characters from Knights of the Zodiac/Saint Seiya, almost certainly boots. I suppose the brown guys are from that series too.

I don't know about the robot, but I like it. The dinosaur is actually Baragon, a Godzilla character. This is some cheap bootleg of the ancient Bullmark keshi design, frequently used for other Godzilla vending machine boots.

The blue monster is from a series that's been discussed here recently, but I don't know the name. Can't help with the frogman.

The two flesh-colored guys are possibly Fist of the North Star characters, the same way that once-considered Super Rare MUSCLE was actually one.

And... not a single clue about the rat!

Thanks for all the responses so far guys. It's great to find out about my blue seamonster guy being a Deinar. Good stuff.

As far as my rat guy, what is Gegege No Kitaro? Any information on it?

They are characters from a very popular manga based on Japanese folklore. Fun.

The first photo w/ the 2 insect guys are Kamen or Masked Rider SDs, I am sure they are official and not knock off/bootleg because I had some I purchased in Japanese candy boxes from an Omaha NE Japanese Grocery store called "Aki Store." The green frog w/ the blue Diener figure is a AD&D Bullywog fig.

The blue/white figure is most likely a Power Ranger or knock off Power Ranger and the bug is a generic gumball figure.

Of course the ones SOupie identified are correct. :p

Okay, so I've learned a lot so far.

But still some of these are unanswered. So does anybody know anything about the two small clear robots (blue and purple), the lame-o orange dude with the green Gundam, or the orange robot with the Godzilla character?

2 small clear robots (blue and purple) No idea.
Lame-o orange dude with the green Gundam No idea, possibly another cheap Gundam knock off.
The orange robot with the Godzilla character? Ultraman knock off.
The colored muscle like figures are Saint Seiya or somethin' like that...I have seen larger figures of them, but, can't remember their name.
The fleshy guys I think are Fist of the North Star possibly.

You have tapped my knowledge my friend.

***I didn't read Boaconda's post*** Looks like he had some of these already identified...sorry for not reading your post Boaconda.

Man! Great lot of figgys! I have 2 of the clear mechs, but I can't place them.

I've also seen that fig that Boaconda can't place! But for the life of me I can't remember! I think I saw it in either an episode of Power Rangers, or possibly even one of those old school sentai Ultraman knockoff movies.

The Green Figure in picture 4 is a Gog figure from Gundam, and the orange one looks a bit like Gyan from Gundam, but it may be a different mecha series.

I think everyone else has pretty much covered everything.

I'd be interested in the 2 FOTNS figs.

Gah, you torment me with your almost-but-not-quite knowledge.

I'm going to scour some kaiju databases, see if I can find this bastitch, but if it's outside the realms of Ultraman, doubt I'll be able to ID it.

I can say for a fact that the little orange guy with the Godzilla figure came from a venting machine as I had the exact same guy from a K-Mart vending machine in the 80's. Now whether or not it's a bootleg of something else I have no idea.

The 80s, huh? That's weird because I'm sure I got mine in the mid-to-late 90s. I guess sometimes these little guys can really last over time.
