Hello,

I'm hoping you can help me, I've been trying for years to ID this toy line. I've enlcosed a picture of the one Toy I've managed to find from the line (The photo came from another collector, so I can't tell you if there are any markings or not)

Basically this figure is from a toyline of Ghosts that were released somewhere between 1984-89. I had this toyline when I was a child and some of the details I can remember are the following.

-They were packaged on a blister card
-There were 3 Ghosts available (The Red Screaming Ghost, photo included, An Orange "Happy" Ghost, and a Green "Wrinkly Ghost"; imagine a Sharpei Dog)
-The ghosts all had symbols on them - The red ghost has a bat, and I think one of the other ghosts had a moon.
-The backstory on the package had something to do with the 3 little ghosts battling an evil Mother Ghost.
-The figures were available in North America, I'm from Canada, and the photo is courtesy of a collector in the USA.

I hope you can help me. I've been searching for years for what this Toyline is called.

Cheers and Thanks in Advance!

-Ian

Man, this is crazy; I've been wondering what this toyline is called for years myself. I would have started my own thread, but I had no pics of them, and my own ghosts are long gone. I remember owning that very ghost pictured above!

One other thing that I recall about the toy line is that they were glow-in-the-dark, if that helps anyone remember what they are.

I was thinking they were Cereal Premiums, but I believe the marking are Pineapple Ind. Made in Canada, after asking someone else who has one. Also here is a pic of the green one.

Posted Image

The guy who has this picture noted that he thought they were General Mills from 1984, but this doesn't coincide with the person who actually game me the trademark info.

I had at least one of these guys I'm sure, but don't remember anything about them. I can't find any info on Pineapple Ind. So really don't know what else to do. Figured someone may be able to get more information based off this.

***Edit...Crap Marty...Didn't think to check ended items. ;) Makes my 2 days work useless. :D

Hope this helps and you can figure out what these are.

I know I have seen them packaged on the net in someone's collection...just don't remember where or what they were called.

Good Luck!

TGB

PS. They kinda remind me of the 60's "Kooky Spookys." I think Hasbro made those and they sell for $$$!!!

Wow!

At least I have pics of the whole set now. I'm going to start digging more in bins at Toy Shows.

I know for a fact that these guys weren't cereal premiums. I can clearly remember buying them at a discount store with my Aunt when I was a kid. They came on a bubble card.

Thanks!

Well, I'm certain that my orange ghost didn't come from a blister card... I'm almost positive that he did come from a cereal box, or a happy meal, or something of that nature.

Not to say that they were never sold on blister cards though :)

Bro, I think you are right....I have that memory too. They could have been dumped in several forms...on cheap cards or promotional toy or even novelty toy.

BTW, these are kewl too! Check out the Haunted HOuse display!!!

Ha! So if I would have just put "Glow in the Dark" in my saved searches I'd have eventually found out and would have been able to tell you.

But yeah, pretty lame name for a toy line. That pic on the Backer card does look pretty familiar now, what year did they come out?

Nice find, guys. It looks like our one, er, interesting one is named "Baggs" not "Capers." Capers refers to the little adventure comics that came with the figures, I believe.

so, are they dead glow worms? and "capers" is pretty close to "casper".

Ok, I bid my max (not that I had the $ w/ all the legal & counseling bills I am dealing w/). There is a vintage Tom (from Tom and Jerry) Pez w/o feet, the complete set of 4 gitd ghosts, a winnie the pooh cereal premium spoon sitter, a King Kong Imperial jiggler and probably a few other treasures.

Good Luck to whoever wins this one. I drove the price up from $5 to it's current high bid. :D

if you or another member here win this lot, i'd love to take that frog off of your hands. i used to have a brown one when i was a kid and loved it. he magically re-appeared after several years in exile behind a fold-away bed in my parent's camp trailer.
