Hey Eddie,

I'm sculpting.  I've got the art sorted for this series, but feel free to email through the site to share some of your work.  Could possibly use you on other projects.

Woah! 8-10 inches.
So will these actually be soft vinyl/sofubi type figures?

That could be fun, especially allowing the original minis to still be unique collectables.
Though, this would certainly make me prioritize probably just 1 figure.
And that would definitely be Muckoid.
Liceplant and Garbeast would also be pretty cool big monster display pieces.
Sparkler, White Washer, and Fumigator would probably be the more recognizable soldiers characters.
Plutor, Breezer, and Vac-U-Ator for the bots?

Tough choices.

Yes, they'll be soft vinyl/sofubi.  Fully painted and blank options.

I realize I might lose a few fans who are mostly interested in mini figs, or maybe not altogether interested in larger art toys, but I want to do something that appeals to the more broad audience of adult art-toy collectors.  Higher quality and price-points allowing for production runs in the hundreds with good QC.

Actually, I collect more Sofubi than minifigs, SO you're not losing me  :D
Though, budget and space limit how extensive that collection gets.
I only have about 6 full size Sofubis, with a few smaller guys.

Also great to hear you're planning on fully painted and blank options, along with a focus on quality.
Really sounds exciting!

I'm actually more interested in these now that they are larger and different, I've never been a fan of tbb, but thinking of them larger and vinyl seems cool.

Well. I’m sure there will be some fans of new, larger ones. As a fan of the old ones, my interest in large vinyl ones is pretty low.

Don't fret, my friend, there might be something in there that will interest you as well :)

Stick in there as more news will roll out in the coming weeks.

The $300 range is typically for rarer/older figures or custom paint runs.
The paint application is the most involved part of production if it gets really elaborate, and you're mostly paying for that + the exclusivity.

If you can get in on a pre-order when they first come out, it's easy to get most Sofubi for less that $90.
Unfortunately, a lot of scalpers in that hobby.
That coupled with low production runs which makes regular figures seem really expensive over time.

I love big vinyl monsters the most honestly, much easier display pieces and harder to lose. I'm really glad they'll be going that route, honestly.

Even if I definitely won't be able to afford them because "under $90" probably still means "over $40" which is unfortunately about how much I can afford to spend per month on hobbies these days.

Will be very excited to review them even through just other people's photos, though!

Will be posting sculpt pics and stuff more regularly on the LRT social sites.

More than happy to continue to engage here, but I'm not going to post here every time I update facebook or instagram--hoping those things will start to grow and become more organic with fans sharing and reposting as the LRT presence becomes more solidified.  Different, but overlapping news on the website, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook--however you like to get your updates!

Posted a pic of an armature...see if you can guess...

Knew that's who it was from that armature before!

Neat that you're directly scaling up the designs and poses, wasn't sure if it was going to be that or modern reimaginings. The latter of course can be cool but can also be hit or miss!

I was always fascinated by Liceplant's name, on a side note. I could only assume he has the power to control lice, either literal lice or "plant lice" like aphids, which I guess makes the most sense.

The overall scale and dimensions are a pretty much straight translation (and will be for the others).  But there will be a lot more surface detail.   The next one (not so much on Liceplant),

will have more variations to the sculpt allowed in a larger scale compared to the original.

Haha, nice imagining of the origin/characteristics of Liceplant!

I'll be sharing some interesting things on the LRT Facebook  and Instagram soon.  A look at several collectibles I've sculpted from various known properties for different companies that I've never really shared publicly because they were mostly canceled for one reason or another during production.  It's in large part what lead me to start my own production company.

Just some items of intrigue to share with the public and hopefully get a more broad and regular fan base to grow around my current project as I'm going to need the support.

After that, I'll be announcing/revealing Kickstarter incentives for the TBB XL campaign!

Sculpts are well under way, I'll probably start to mold some parts this week so I can fit the articulation together and prepare the prototypes for the factory!

How big a kickstarter goal are you looking at? When I talked to a company about manufacturing figures or plushes I was quoted something like $20,000 for a minimum run.

It's no small amount, but I don't really want to discuss numbers before I have them nailed down.

I can say that I'm NOT planning to cover all costs through Kickstarter though, because I think that number is too high of an up-front goal.  I'm going to set a lower, quantity-based Kickstarter goal, and also order overstock for my online store, conventions, and a few retailers I'm working with and I'll be investing my own money to cover all of that.

Hey everyone, just wanted to make sure everyone knows I'm rolling out Kickstarter rewards on FB and the website.  Always checking in here though, and feel free to discuss and share, but just so you know, most of the action is on the LRT sites just to keep things consolidated.

Series 2 colorway exclusives!!
