There's polishing a turd, and then there's revealing that if the turds looked juuuuust right they could've been anything but. Wow!

Wow it almost seems like moose comes up with cool ideas for packaging and then bases  a toy line around that.

The problem with these isn't solely that they're rehashes, but that their scope is more limited. Trash Pack had animals, monsters, robots, you name it. There's only so much you can stretch the grocery theme into.

Ugglys Pet Shop had a nice idea going with animals, but still limited to things you can get as pets. Moose should really do a line in this style with no limitation at all, just some kind of gross monster series that can be literally anything - trash, aliens, ghosts, whatever.

I think they are separating it out by types, though. Uggly Pets was them trying to branch away from Trash Pack, but I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a Trash Pack branded pet theme, dinosaur theme, etc.

Wish they would stick with firmer rubbers or plastics though. That soft rubber sucks.

These are out here now, they look pretty much exactly the same as Trash Pack and are basically Trashies by another name, which is fine by me.

The packaging looks less bulky with less useless plastic containers, which is good.

Argos in the UK will have a "Vile Vending Machine" mega pack containing 20 exclusive figures. Not sure if this release is UK only or international.

I saw a bunch of this stuff today at TRU. As always, Moose has great packaging. Even the playsets are pretty fun.

still can't move passed the figure material though.

I've been buying these for a week or so now. I've managed to get 3 of the fuzzy rotten fruit. (The pumpkin is the best!) and one of the ultra rare 1 of 5000 metallic figures. (sardines)

There are still a few I'd like to collect. Is anyone else buying these? I'd be interested in trading down the line.

Kinda surprised there isn't more interest in these but I know people have been disappointed with these Moose lines.  My kids really want some but I'm holding out till Christmas to get a bunch.  I gotta be honest though, I'd scoop up a nice lot of the moldy ones in a heartbeat.  Bought them a pack the other day as a prize for doing some good things at their schools and the pack came with a moldy guy.  Love him and he isn't near as soft as the others.  Maybe it's just cause their cousins are in love with the shopkins, but they really seem to like this line.

Maybe I should just hold off like the trashies and buy a ton for pennies down the road.  If outside eBay anyone knows where I could find the mold or some of metal ones cheap, let me know.

The part that kills me is that Shopkins are made of a harder, more durable material!

I think if they switched to that same material all of us would be flocking to the dang things!

Yeah the moldy ones are definitely stronger than the others. Regardless if my kids smile I don't care if they are made of cardboard. But I agree that I wouldn't pay much for these. I give them till after Christmas and the series dies off. Saw some of the rare go for $300-400 but I don't get the draw. I am struggling to consider $1 each as it is. If they were all moldy or the color change, I would do that. But the regular and sticky are just okay and too expensive at that point. Like others said, you could grab trashiest a lot cheaper and they are very similar.

I saw a post on here from someone making a series similar to these but with armor- food fighter style and that is a great idea.

My kids like the gitd figures. The color charge are far better than series 1 color change and this round are stiffer

Soooo, was at toy fair and caught a quick glimpse of something Moose has in the works. Last year I pitched them Snack Attack. They said, they didnt want to scale up the figures so they werent interested. Then I see these, this week.

At least they only took a small idea, instead of ripping you off completely. it could be much, MUCH worse.
