I know Ganesha and Herne were removed in the uk(and orange Ganesha was a premium anyway) but I was wondering why others were hard to find.
I've been scouring eBay like mad for about three months now and I've seen green dragon twice, blue jabberwock twice and there is an orange Herne floating around.
I've never even seen a pink jabberwock. At least not on eBay UK.
In contrast S1 premiums (and S2 gitd) are all over the place, even regional colours crop up regularly.
Did they just not make many of those sculpts in those colours? And why those colours? Two colours of jabberwock and one each of Herne and dragon.
Just wondering if there was an answer.

One theory is that those sculpt/color combos were limited to a specific release, like the Cauldron. I don't think that's been proven though.

Orange Herne and Ganesha were both Spaghettio's figures in the US weren't they? I always got the impression that orange Herne was available in the cauldron in the UK, which is why that one sometimes turns up here, whereas orange Ganesha doesn't.

I'd love to know if anyone here has found any of these colours in a cauldron. There was a cauldron on eBay recently but it only had the gitd monsters. There doesnt seem to be many pictures of the packaging but from the eBay pics Im sure I can make out a glow it the dark Ganesha and warlock on the box.

Yeah, both were included in one of the Spaghettio's sets.

Going back a few years now, but I think my orange Herne came in a lot that had a pretty bashed cauldron, and I'm fairly sure I've seen it in other cauldron lots. Not definitive proof, but that's why I think the two are related.

Actually someone on here sold a lot on eBay with a cauldron. I just found it as I was reading over old posts. There's an orange Herne in there with the gitd figures.

SD's info is accurate. I am not sure if orange herne was in the cauldron or not; but it is much more common than orange Ganesha. It is hard to tie figures definitively to the cauldron although I believe that there is very strong evidence for it given the assortments in cauldron lots that pop up for sale. One of the issues is that the cauldron shows figures on the box art (much like other mimp packaging) that were never produced as far as we know beyond what was used on the box art. If memory serves, there is a GITD Ganesha and Warlock on the cauldron box art which were never produced for resale. Obviously from the pic, at least one exists somewhere; but it is probably forever lost to time. Other figures that are rare and tied to some degree to the cauldron are Green Dragon, Green Gorgon, Pink Ganesha, pink Jabberwock, Blue Jabberwock and probably all of the GITDs. Blue Ganesha seems to be uncommon for no real discernible reason. Not rare; just uncommon. Green Dragon, blue/ pink Jabberwock are the true rares of the bunch with a special mention for green Gorgon which seems to be much rarer than most people appreciate; given that it is not one of the more popular sculpts in general.

I didn't realise green gorgon was uncommon but actually now you've said it, I don't recall ever seeing any much like pink jabberwock.

I wouldn't class Green Gorgon as being as uncommon as pink/blue J-wock or pink/blue Ganesha. I've owned approximately 5 Green Gorgons and even used one for a kitbash project, whereas I've only owned one each of the other aforementioned figures.

Definitely not on the level of those true rarities. I have been told that they seem to be a UK exclusive and may be tied to the cauldron. I have only ever owned one and do not see them often. I could be completely wrong; but they don't seem to pop up on a regular basis. Perhaps not a true rare; but an uncommon. I have definitely never seen them in US auctions; so it could be a geographical rarity. Although, I do keep a close eye on ebay,uk,

Anyone got some input on the typical ball park prices on blue, pink, and orange Ganesha?

Blue ganesha is fairly common. Under 5 quid. Paid 15 for orange which I thought was cheap. Pink between the 2

Funny thing is that I never see a magenta Ganesha for sale. It's the only MIMP figure I have and magenta is the only Ganesha I'm missing.
