I've just started collecting Mini Boglins again, and I didn't think any of those were considered rare when I first saw the auction, am I missing something?

No reason so far as I can see. Presumably someone just felt like they wanted to pay 10 quid for a quid's worth of Boglins.

$2 a fig is a high price? These guys must be near worthless for that to be a "high" price.

Correct. I wouldn't value any of the Mini Boglins in the picture at more than 25 pence each.

There's no sign of any neon figures at all in that top layer so it's likely the whole lot will be fairly common early series stuff. From what's visible it looks like the boxes are what drove up the price there.

Even with the boxes at maximum price, they still got a pretty penny for those common figures and no sign of any cards either.

You can tell from that sellers buying & selling history that he is quite knowledgeable in these type of toys.

The whole auction was a set up to sell off his extra commons.

Everything is "RARE - LOOK" on ebay isn't it?
Having been using ebay this last month or so quite heavily I'm starting to grow rather tired of a lot of people's pathetic attempts to pass of turds as gold - please don't anyone here be offended though the ones driving me up the wall aren't close to the collectors an the knowledgeables like we have here (and it shows too).
Another thing that's driving me mad are people who have bothered to photograph and list common figures individually, clogging up my search, all for the same of about 20P a figure (plus postage) I get why it can be useful but after a few weeks it becomes...tiresome - listing Samurais, or premiums or even regular Battle Beasts given their regular sale price seems to be a couple of quid each I find tolerable but lines and lines of Monster in My Pocket and Kinder Egg Figures and bloody Kellogg's prizes...aaah!.
sorry what were we talking about? oh yeah, Mini-Boglins, carry on lol.

Incidentally, is my current sale alright - price wise? - it works out about 38P per figure before postage:

I get sick of seeing boglin lots which only have brown, grey and mustard boglins in them haha, but yeah ebay can get very tiring

I like that lot, it has a good variety of everything. Like Aikola said, I would be willing to buy a few if you decided to break it up. But when you do that, you always end up with a bunch that no one wants :p Good luck with the sale though, I think with BIN boglin lots it's always a good idea to add the make offer option, but you might aswell let it run for a while

Does anyone know why glow in the dark Boglins all seem to have really inconsistent amounts of paint randomly washed all over them? Some of mine literally have no paint, then others are covered in green/purple

Yea I thought it was a great lot. A dozen or so were stained but it was still a good lot.

No they don't show up on Ebay US.
I just checked completed listings and it was the only listing in the last several months.

I think I lucked out with the seller only shipping in the United States.

They wern't released in the US, only UK and Italy, I think so any lots from the US are probably people who bought them on a trip to europe or bought them from someone over here.

it's got a couple of weeks to run, but when it doesn't sell (and it probably won't because...I have no luck lol) I'll be happy to break 'em up.

I wish I could have found more brown and mustard Boglins when i was completing my set, I have 1 mustard and about 2 browns! Isn't it always the way?

Yeah bargains are hard to come by at the moment. I have about 200 spares I've been waiting to sell with a few Samurai and Slime ones...now seems like a good time. I'll be sure to list them all by name and make sure I write SUPER RARE next to a brown Spew.

I guess people who haven't seen or even heard the word boglin in like 15 or 20 years will think they are rare when they find a bunch in their attic and stick them on ebay, the rest as you say are just trying to bump their price up by throwing in the 'rare' word.

Well, this is the definition of optimism:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221206451186

I especially love the description of the Cool Dudes as very rare because "they were only in cereal boxes"

One thing that blows my mind is how come Canada ended up with really rare MIMP premiums that go for a ton and we ended up with common as muck Mini Boglins.
