I was recently traded a painted dark blue claw, and since I don't have that color yet, I've decided to remove the paint to bring the piece back to it's original plain blue color. Would paint thinner or nail polish remover affect the integrity of the rubber underneath the paint?

Don't quote me on this, but I think Simple Green might be the best for the job.  Never tried it myself, but I think I've seen some vids on it.

I'm looking for a way to remove factory-paint. I know I've seen some photos of Gormiti and a few other painted figs with their paint completely removed and they looked fantastic, but I can't recall who did it or if the methods were mentioned.

Seems everyone recommends Simple Green for removing after-market paint, but it didn't do that great of a job removing paint from a Crashling figure I was using as a test. I've also tried using some paint thinner I had around the house, but it's an "eco friendly" type of thinner that's milky-white-ish and it has always seemed to be on the weak side. Scrubbed the figure afterwards pretty extensively with a toothbrush, then a steel-wire brush and still having difficulty getting the paint off.  Have been letting the fig soak for about 48 hours now.

Simple didn't do much for the figure I was trying to unpainted either. It worked a little, but the paint on there was just too tough.

Well I ended up having a decent amount of success with the Crashlings in the end. I gave up on the Simple Green and left them soaking in the aforementioned "green" paint thinner for a few days before scrubbing again with the wire brush. This got most of the paint off but there were still tiny little flecks stuck in the crevices. Then I remembered that I had bought some little sanding needles when I started casting resin and tried using those (kind of like these, but the ones I have are white). They worked beautifully, almost like a magnet for the leftover paint!

So yeah, if you're having trouble getting the last bit off try using a sanding needles. I took a pic of the results but it's on my tablet at home so I'll upload it later.

so they definitely look better as monos, but considering the amount of effort this took they're still kind of meh.
