[Ridureyu]

I just got six more FOP series 2 figures (Thanks to rkingston on e-bay - GREAT seller, by the way.), and took some pictures to show them off. They are #53 Fang (Hyper), #71 Desha (Shadow), #76 Volcus (Shadow), #80 Krawk (hyper), #81 Gallapad (Hyper), and #83 Gnaw (Hyper).


These figures are even better-detailed than the 5-pack I showed off earlier, which is a pleasant surprise. for some reason, when I turned the flash on my camera it wshed out the dark blue in both Fang and Gallapad, and turned Krawk's green into turqoise. So, some of the pictures might seem a little dark in here, but that's all right - I might try to take better pics soon when it's more convenient.

I'll start with the shadow figures.


Desha (From "Wyld," the Jungle region): "A warrior from a mysterious cult, resurrected by Xar, Desha and his horde terrorise the inhabitants of Wyld on a daily basis. No matter how many times they are defeated, or beaten back, they always return."


What this doesn't tell you is that Desha is decapitated. It's obvious in his artwork on the site, though - Desha's head is separated from his body, and he's holding it up so he can use his blowgun! he's also got three shrunken heads hanging from his belt, making this guy quite the gruesome little ethnic stereotype. This figure is... unique.

[Ridureyu]

Volcus ("Fires of Torbor): Volcus is the Shaman-Warrior for the clan of the Obsidian Dragon. He is a well-trained warrior, but derives his strength from the dark forces of fire and the blood of the great Obsidian Dragon, Ulamet.


Volcus hails from the Fires of Torbor, a Series 1 realm - which automatically makes him one of the "commons" in this set. He's a really, really big guy - pretty tall, with some bulk to his sculpt. Volcus has a lot of scaly detail on him, and his head is sculpted to look serpentlike. He's also well-armed, although the sword makes it a little hard for him to stand. Volcus is about as detailed as a rare or super-rare from series 1.

Fang ("The Bends," an underwater region): For some reason, the website does not have Fang's profile listed! In fact, if you don't look at the poster, you wouldn't know he exists!

That's a pity, because Fang is one of the best FOP sculpts I've seen. He's huge, he's well-detailed, he's creative, and he looks mean. I think that Fang might be a jellyfish - but Toxin is the official Jellyfish of the group, so unless they're related, I guess he's some kind of squid. Fang has fangs, of course - lots of them. His right arm is also a massive serrated blade. Instead of a left arm, he has several tentacles together in a clump, and more tentacles hang around his mouth and the back of his head. He;s got a wide head, almost reminiscent of a Man o'War or a hammerhead shark, and his eyes are on stalks. The rest of Fang's body is very well-detailed with scales and bits of armor plating. The paint job didn't leave anything out, either.

Gallapad (From Mar, a series 1 region) - "Gallapad was a deposed King on his homeworld of Ossidian.His cruelty and sadism led to a revolt against him amongst his people. He now leads a mob of cutthroats and murderers."


To find the series 2 Mar figure in the official site, look at the bototm of the list, below series 1. Yeah, it's weird, I know.

Gallapad confuses me. He's from Mar, but he doesn't look aquatic. His name sounds like a hoofed version of Sir Galahad. And he's holding a bunny rabbit. After studying the figure I realized that he's supposed to be a sea turtle - not that you can tell from the front, but he has a turtle shell. I suppose the strangled rabbit is there to convince us that he's eeeeevil, or something. Gallapad is about as well-detailed as Grondar from series 1. By the way, he's dark blue, but if I used the flash for a pic, he looked baby blue - hence the dark pictures.

Krawk (From Molobog, a Series 1 region) "Like most all of the creatures in Molobog, Krawk fights for himself with every ounce of his being. Krawk is undisciplined and unskilled, but strong and scary enough for it not to matter."

Krawk is a crocodile, which makes him fit perfectly in the swamp region. He is also colored the exact same way as Mantorr. krawk is pretty simple, although he's one of the few FOP figures who's basically facing to the side. He's got a halberd, and a nasty grin on his face. he's about as detailed as a normal series 1 figure.

Wow, they're pretty cool looking! Hopefully ebay will soon be flooded with these. I'd like to pick a few up.

How do they look standing next to a series one figure?

Gnaw (From Korr, a series 1 territory): "A Lieutenant in the Brack Horde, Gnaw is extremely clever and dangerous. He never fights toe to toe, always making sure that he has some way to gain a tactical advantage on his enemy."

Remember how the series 1 Korr fighters were all super rare? Well, Gnaw is common. Anyway, Gnaw is a rat, in keeping with the "furry" theme of Koff. He's angrily brandishing a spear - which already has an impaled skull on it, and also has a little unpainted dagger painted to his back. Gnaw looks pretty good, and is about as well-detailed as Hisss or Spidok. He's painted in gunmetal gray, which is cool - I took a pic with the flash on so you'd see how it shines.
