I don't know crap about anything related to toy making, manufacturing and selling. How doesn't this guy get sued for making what, to the uneducated eye, looks like Star Wars knockoffs/bootlegs?

There was a very lively debate on this a few months back.

Protected as Parody perhaps? Under the radar? Small potatoes? Not sure.

I had several "taint/genitals" jokes to respond with, but then I remembered that I have responsibility now, haha

That being said... I think that after the tirade that George went on about people "stealing other people's art" and being "dirty thieving bootleggers" and let's not forget the eloquent classic "You aren't Mexico", that this is a sanctimonious slap in the face NOT just to the artists in the community that she was shit-talking... But to the people that are trying to appreciate the community without her repugnant brand of sanctimony. Bootleggers are bad... Unless you think you can make a buck off of them?

I don't want to hear some half-cocked argument from George or her husband (It comes together, that those weren't Rommel typos), about how those sculpts are "just barely different enough" or how "they are different because they are parodies"... It's flat out hypocrisy. I just hope this is Sucklord's way of outing George in public, otherwise I'm happy to piss down his leg, too.

Now that it's Disney not Lucas it might be a different story... but Lucas only ever made a stink when someone was pulling down decent money and using a lot more license than this. At that I never heard of suing. Cease and desist yeah. Confiscating equipment, returning money..... stuff like that. But if that happens...... well at least you see you've made a splash. I'm not against the idea here.... these are figures of his characters that I believe started as bootleg/knockoff toys.

Most of the time "artist" is synonymous with d-bag.... always saw Morgan as having fun with what he was doing & making fun of all that at the same time.

I have only one beef here and it's been stated before. No need to beat a dead horse :)

Not been following the news in the UK? There's been a big outcry recently over horse meat from mainland Europe being packaged and sold as beef products in recent months.

Personally I don't see the problem. Horse meat is tastier, healthier and less environmentally damaging to farm than beef, it's only a cultural preference that it's not more popular. The misrepresentation is an issue, but honestly wouldn't be as much of one if people were more comfortable with the idea of eating horse.

Compared to some of the crap Americans eat, horse might be a step up.

You sound like someone that has consumed their fair share of horse.

Taco Bell uses a grade of beef that is probably lower in actual beef content than horse meat.

RedJar might disagree with me tho.

I put down some Horse Sashimi in Japan a few years back, and ate a horse meat dish in Italy without knowing what it was.  The thought of eating horse is still strange for me I guess, but I attribute that to cultural taboo.  The taste was not great, but not bad either.

Back to the Sucklord minis...

I met Sucklord at SDCC a few years back, and he seemed like a nice guy.  I think he would be one of the last dudes to ever criticize people for making bootlegs.  I wonder if he is even aware of George's diatribe on dirty thieving bootleggers?

How can you attack the little guy when you are part of professionally producing large volumes of potentially infringing figures in factories??

Sucklord knows. They did an episode of George's shit-show, addressing the whole schmozz.

I went for the $100 carded set. Thought about doing the one where you get all colors instead, but I figure the packaging is kinda the point to the Sucklord stuff. Cool to see there is already a stretch goal of another bonus color for all pledges over $40.

There are new stretch (suck) goals added for new figures, and I believe for every colour release too.
@ $22.5k = 11th figure, @ $25k = 12th, @ $27.5k = 13th, @ $30k = 14th & @ $35k the last 15the figure.
This is getting interesting, I hope more backers jump on board.

I did the 100.00 pledge that has a set of each color.

It's seems like a decent deal to me.

100 for 70 figs is cheap as chips.

I've wasted more on less.

I might have to step up to the 166.00 level for the carded set.
