This section of the catalog is dedicated to bringing back Retroband's favorite impossible to find mini-toys from long ago. Most of the toys here will be recast bootlegs rather then original pieces so the price is much lower then any of the other toys. Just enough to cover then cost of molding and casting.

The first Black Market Mystery figure was a recast of a very difficult Crypt Keeper figure from a board game that hasn't been around for a few decades and it was cast in army green.

It would be cool if the silhouette in the store changes each month to match the new mystery figure. It would be a new challenge for the people here that are so good at toy identification.

That is the plan!

New mystery bootleg figure for this month is up for grabs.

What is it?

Who knows but for $5 bucks I can't say no!

Probably never going to figure any of these out in advance, but I'll play along with the mystery, plus this time I didn't miss out. Actually kinda surprised this wasn't like the first mystery where it sold out instantly. Maybe because now people have an idea that duplicates aren't necessary (unless you really, really needed a full set of Crypt Keepers).

Hmm I knew the first one right off the bat because I bought the board game for the reason of the crypt keeper figs a few years back. This one though, I'm stumped. The chunkiness of the figure reminds me of a soma karate guy, the pose looks off though.

I know Retro is trying to make it a bit harder to guess so the image may not be as exact as before. I think it's more interesting that way and again he sells these for the cost of the resin and silicone basically so it's all just for fun.

I thought Bad Eggz Yolkyuk when I first saw it, but it definitely isn't exact for that.

That was my first guess too.

I had a best friend growing up who was obsessed with Toxic Avenger. Pretty cool looking sculpt.

Do you take a picture vertically or horizontally? I do the latter and never have them come out sideways or upside down. I have no clue other than that.

This figure looks too nice to be a Yolanda sculpt or something. Where did it come from?

Also shocked by its size. This drop has really been about some big sculpts between Toxie and the Monkey's Paw. For those who don't have it yet, Zardoz only reaches up halfway or so up the chest.

That's awesome. And I missed it before it sold out. I have an extra Crypt Keeper to trade if anybody picked up an extra Toxie.

I'll ask Retro where it's from exactly. I was surprised by the size as well considering the price.

The monkey's paw is pretty large too because it just felt wrong sculpting it smaller. That extra inch and a half made it seem almost life size and I thought that would be fun. Almost like a souvenir you'd find at some strange shop were you could buy a Mogwai.

Oh, it's those Toxic Crusaders. Wow, I didn't realize they were so detailed, they put the Yolanda sculpts to shame!
