The WWE is a publically traded entity in the Information Age and indeed employs a corporate mindset to their entire operation. There are certain things that a company like that just can't afford to tolerate or defend and blatant racism is one of them.

No- I said what I meant. There was nothing implied. I don't say things for people to read between lines and interpret the meaning as they see fit. People are sensitive to sounds.

I see how you would think that, though- the "what a joke" part? I do think it's a joke that people are sound sensitive. Wish nobody would be offended by words.

I have no problem with Hogan being fired but the Chris Benoit (scrub him from the history books) treatment does seem like an overreaction by the company. Racism is disgusting but the interview in question doesn't quite compare with murdering your wife and child.

I agree, the dude deserved to be wiped from the WWE history books. He was beloved by them and his family and what does he do, he betrays them both, the worse kind of betrayal. I was a huge fan of Benoit before he even made it big, I watched his debut on WCW before he ever laid foot in WWE and thought he was someone to watch. I thought he was awesome. But now all I can think of the guy is, what a piece of sh!t he is. So probably Vince feels the same. As for Hogan, they seem to being doing the same thing trying to erase all evidence of his current presence in WWE. To be honest, I don't really know what they kept him around up until now, since he isn't really active in the ring, but I think Vince felt sorry for him that he was going through hard times and needed a job. I think he deserves to be fired, but he shouldn't be erased from the history books like Benoit does.

Eh, Hogan was always a dick. Listen to a lot of the old timers, any time his name comes up. Personally, I've been enjoying the memes of Stevie Richards being plugged in to all of Hogan's old matches. 

And honestly, if I had the book in the WWE, I'd start editing Curtis Axel into Hogan's old shit, and get some heat on the poor kid.

Never card for him as a kid, much less so as an adult.  If you really want the straight dope on the 'Hulkster', go ahead and watch/listen to several years worth of candid interviews.  What a bozo, on several levels.

 

I'm not really into the whole buffoonish scene, but I've enjoyed a decent amount of frank discussion from several of these guys.  Murder, fake Tourettes, gay porn tapes, mayhem, deceit, insanity, etc., tip of the iceberg.

And Sheik seems to be completely out of his gourd.   Classic soundbites by the dozen:  "I love you, Mr. Howard, but not THIS guy, HOGAN!!  F him!  I am REAL man, Mr. Howard!!  I will F Hogan in his <hateful slang for gay men> A!!"

 

Speaking of anti-homosexual rhetoric, apparently this one dude was let go when he came out of the closet.  He and some older has-been argued off and on, and truth told I sided with the younger gay guy.    The older wrestler really represented himself as an arrogant prick, riding old whats-his-name's jock.

Hogan was always his own biggest fan. I think his time in WCW, specifically the period where he and Nash had booking power, is a real testament to his character and unprofessionalism. I won't miss him or his rehashed promos. I'm not surprised that Virgil defended him on Twitter -- that guy is a slimeball. I've worked with indy wrestling promoters doing camera work and commentary on local shows. Virgil turned up at a show once a few years back...it's no secret that he's a self-important shill.
