So i know theres 236 flesh m.u.s.cl.e. men plus then the colors.... and for kinkeshi theres over 400, but are those 400 all different from the 236? Or same 236 then plus 180 or so different ones.

All of the M.U.S.C.L.E. sculpts were taken from the Kinkeshi line, save one. The Terri-Bull that came with the wrestling ring was a sculpt unique to the North American line. All of the other 235 were first made as Kinkeshi.

#234 Kinnikuman/Muscleman is a US only that's a smaller version of #141.  What's funny is reissues of the Japanese of #141 (its number is different in Japan though) turned out the same size as that #234.  But I think the #141 whether shrunken or not is looking slightly upward compared to #234.   And proportion of his belt buckle may be larger.

Here is a list (but no pictures) of 473:  http://kinnikuman.wi...m/wiki/Kinkeshi

If you get Ultimate Muscle for Gamecube or Galactic Wrestling for PS2, they have toy collection mode, where using kin medals racked up from playing the game, you get random figures from vending machines and can collect the whole 418 to see plus newer ones and a bunch of a Ultimate Muscle.
444 total on GC and 473 total on PS2.   They're also custom painted in the pictures, though the quality of the painting varies.  But in the translation they changed a lot of names and just plain made some mistakes so it's good to have that list I linked to.  All instances of Black are changed to Dark and Satan is changed Diablo.   So Satan Cross = Diablo Cross.   Black Kung Fu = Dark Kung Fu.   Black Satan = Dark Diablo.  The funniest changes are Foxman mistakenly translated as Forksman and Hang Killer (a version of Dr. Bonbe) changed to Dangledoom.   The dumbest most annoying change in the translation, especially since he's a playable character, is Geronimo changed to Beetlebomb and they say he's from England instead of Native American.  Most Irritating!!

I actually don't have a PS2.   I bought the game just to play it in an emulator but it's great, running at 60 fps.  It just bogs down during end credits, the Big Budo or Neptuneman select screen for mask hunt mode, and a little in the toy collection.  I'm playing the GC on a GC compatible Wii but I'll see how it runs for me in an emu.  They're similar games but they each have some things the other doesn't and the PS2 one is cheaper to get.

Another good reference is Nathan's MUSCLE Blog
https://nathansmuscl....C.L.E. Archive
which has the 236 US Muscle with their Japanese names, though some are left as Romanji, an example being Golemman as Goremuman.  So at least they you have pictures with the names.

I do not know of any sites that have all the Kinnikuman pictures.  Some pages people have linked to in topics are gone.

Something odd, is that both those games have #418 as a 30th Anniversary Commemorative Medal.   Among a bunch of 29th Anniversary Reissues I have, I guess its 29th Anniv Medal would be an older version of #418 and I have several figures that do not appear among that 473.   The coolest ones being a Buffalo Rampage/Devil Buffaloman with Satan on his chest and a version of Akuma Shogun that has absorbed parts of his devil knights that I think he decapitated for failing him.  He has six faces on his body with some of Sneagator's laces and he freaking has Sunshine's arms with one of Junkman's spike panels instead of one hand!
 Attached File  29thBest.jpg   135.55K   1 downloads

...Using a thesaurus I think another funny name for Hang Killer would be Drooping Oblivion.

Ah, navigating around one of those links is the 29th Anniversary Set showing what seem to be exclusives in it besides the reissues:

http://www.din.or.jp...n_29syunen.html

They're pretty cool, but I wouldn't call them premium compared to other premiums and they're smaller (saw in a video that the big 418 box ones are smaller too).   Odd, the new ones weren't included in the 473.

On that second link you provided, do you think some of those pictures look like MUSCLE plastic as opposed to keshi, or is just trick of the light? Like some of the guys in part 28...were later kinkeshi made with slightly firmer plastic? If you look at the main page, on the link with the exclamation marks next to the green hooded guy with the double crosses, if you scroll down there is a picture of two different woolsman (sheep guy) next to each other-the shades of pink are different and the one on the right looks MUSCLEy to me....maybe I'm seeing things

Its all sweet sweet Kinkeshi rubber and not MUSCLE but sometimes (I imagine) if they dont have the original vintage sculpt they picture a reissue Kinkeshi (later release) as an example. Those tend to have a different glow/texture to them when pictured (but they are all rubber and not PVC).

The later parts in the Kinkeshi line (I say starting from Part 26 onwards but not exclusively as other sculpts are also harder to collect/find with accessories etc) were not as mass produced as you might think or compared to earlier parts (especially some color sculpts like yellow).

Therefore completing the collection is difficult in one color or say Flesh (especially Part 29 and Part 30; those are especially harder to come by). Towards the end of the line, less people collected them (hence less being available in the wild).

All look original kinkeshi to me, some flesh vary in hue with kinkeshi unlike muscle that were uniformly the same shade. Part-29 was rereleased in the 90s in a box set and those are the 90s style rubber (firmer and shinier).

As for that Woolsman, he was a figure never released or put into production. There are 4 figures total that are part of an unreleased part 31 set. Definitively not muscle type rubber, only Keshi style.

Kinkeshi can easily look like muscles in pics depending on the quality of the photo. That's why people get fooled and pay crazy prices on eBay thinking they are getting a super rare figure instead of a common kinkeshi figure.

I don't know if these are the best deals but searching ebay for kinnikuman gashapon part

brings up parts 5 through 11 of the 29th Anniversary set ranging $23 to 28.50 per each 20 figure set with free shipping to the US.   The same company in Hong Kong is split over three sellers (ehobby_japan, easyshop88, happygoodshop), but they're all good and there has been discounts for ordering more than one from the same seller at once.

Just keep in mind most of the figures are smaller than the vintage or MUSCLE.   And if you get ones that don't stand because their legs aren't in the best position, see Mike's tip on my Satan Cross Annoyance topic though I haven't tried it just yet.

Keep in mind how much these are at more than $1 per a figure while I hear of people getting the 418 box for $250.   But it seems there's some here that the 418 box doesn't have.
