Alright the cut off point is @ 3:13 PM today. Then the top six contributors will be notified.

I think I have enough sculpts to the finished point to get this going. Most likely within this next week I should be contacting the guy to get this project rolling.

Please have all orders/commissions in before 3:13 PM today if you want to be in the top six to receive one of the six first castings.

Thanks again,

Luke

I think the one on the far left is the one that won out. The tentacles are minimally posable & it seems to be the easiest to make at an affordable price. I'm going to have a small run of these ordered soon & will be offered at a special introductory LRG member only price of $15 each + shipping. They will have random mix & match tentacles alternating between the gray pictured & a nice dark red & a shimmering green.

Special order pieces might be possible, but I will have to get a quote for individual custom order pieces.

So yeah there will be 20 in this first kinda trial run... so if you can't live without one go ahead & post over here in their own thread so we can be fair. Otherwise they will be available @ the upcoming Sac Anime show.

He just takes pictures like that... actually it was his idea to put it on his head. If anything he's irritated his little brother copied him :D

Alright I slacked & didn't make an appointment for this week to get things roling ^_^ but the guy is pretty flexible & I might still be able to get started this week. Hopefully will get the mold made & the first casts off this week or by the beginning of next week.

In the meantime before I actually get some plastic versions out, I will be offering a set of 3 of the little guys I carved out of the sandstone stuff. These will be cast as little statuettes or something. Cast in some stuff called permastone (a plaster kinda stuff) pretty durable stuff. They will be sealed & hand painted. I am only going to be doing 15 casts in this first paint scheme & they will be up for sale tomorrow in the "Got Toys" section. I will post pics & the sales thread tomorrow evening & it's first come first serve. Each set will be numbered & hand painted in the same paint scheme as the pics to be posted.

Thanks for all your support!

Wow... got reeeeeeally busy this week & haven't made it over to get the mold & what not yet. Should be able to make it out after work tomorrow & soon be shipping out the first runs to you top 6 contributors!

Don't know how long it will take to get things together enough to really start producing them here, but the first step will be out of the way. As soon as I get a few commissions finished up I will be working on saving up for equipment & plastic & all that crap so I can start getting these sets produced for those interested.

Also after things calm down a bit I will be starting on sculpting for a series 2. The deal with series 2 is it is going to include characters from local artist comics & figures of a local B list late night horror host.... there might also still be a spot or 2 depending on how things go. So basically if you have a character or know someone who does that might be interested in this type of cross promotion thing let me know.

Hopefully by the weekend I will have some shots of my little guys immortalized in plastic for you to see :D

Thanks,

Luke

So yeah..... I finally made it to pick up the mold & work with the guy on this casting stuff so I have a set to split up amongst the top 6 so yeah if you guys are planning on making any orders in the near future let me know & I will hold off on shipping yours & ship 'em with your orders so no charge for any shipping. He only had polyurethane resin to work with so on their own these first ones won't be too much to look at so I will be painting them before randomly splitting them up for shipping.

Once I get things settled around here I will let you know when the first run will be happening so those who are interested can place orders.

Here's the lineup straight outta the mold. No fancy plastic or anything so these guys will be painted up nice before being randomly shipped of to you guys. Hopefully get things rolling on these once I get a couple of commissions out of the way

now that you've got the wheels turning, do you have any idea on prices and colors available? are you only going to be selling them painted, or can a person pick up an unpainted set?

Well to start for now I have what's left of this material. I can sell either way, I will see what I get out of these & what's available to work with. When I'm buying the material to do a true first run I will most likely be doing a single color run.

We will have to see where this goes as I'm being hassled as to when I'm going to have the sculpts for the second series underway.....

So yeah... after I see how many I end up with out of the material I have on hand I will know better if I will have enough if people want an unpainted set to paint themselves & what the pricing might look like.

Thanks,

Luke

It's so neat to see this progress, anyone who gets any of these will just appreciate them that much more. Will you be only selling sets, or are you going to sell individual figures?

At first I will probably be selling sets, once I really get going there might be more of an opportunity for individual figures.

Also, this first set is kind of a mix up of different themes, the second series will feature different artist characters immortalized in plastic, after that if all goes well I am looking @ more themed sets. Looking @ possibly lovecraft set, a set of those mushroom headed guys and a few other ideas rattlin' around in ma head.

Alright..... here's the first set that'll be randomly shipped out to you guys!
Attached File  First_Painted.jpg   919.8K   26 downloads

I still have to get a couple of projects finished up around here& then I outta start rollin out a couple sets or so for painted sets to start with. After that I will most likely be doing a single color type short run & we'll see from there. Hopefully after Christmas & in between projects I'll be starting on the sculpts for the second series.

That's it for now....

Thanks,

Luke

I think this first batch looks fantastic. I love the little sandstone guys, the clam on tentacles looks very cool, I wasn't sure if I was going to like the little blob guy, but I think the molten metal look really moved him up in my book. The Eyeball guy reminds me of a distant relative of Krang from TMNT. The Green guy speaks for himself with his origins in classic horror and a sort of gargoyle motif.

Since these guys are under the Battle Beast/Gormiti Scale and closer to MUSCLE, I think the first logically unpainted casting run should be Flesh. I think this may be a little simple, but honestly with most board members having a decent sized or near complete MUSCLE set, I think it would be a nice tribute to a line we all know and love, and a jumping board into other awesome plastic/paint schemes.

I personally am a huge fan of translucent figures. It worked well for Playmates to get $$$ off me towards Gormiti. I think if they were clear, to foggy, to smokey they might really do well without any paint apps. Also blueish, either solid or translucent is a good color in my opinion. Like either the sons of the Sky or the Sea. After that I think Red for lava or a stone/cement color to resemble little statues. Also a kind of glassy/osidian black mized with a scheme that looks like lava cooling into osidian would be killer, creatures born of molten earth. Lastly is green, the children of nature, it suits the one from the test batch, I think it might work for the eye guy and the sandstone guys too.

Maybe you should run a poll to see what people would be interested in buying as a first run batch.

Thanks for the feedback! I am of course open for suggestions as far as what people want to see as I am just kinda jumping into this. Don't know if I wanna go poll or anything that serious, just if people care they might put their 2¢ in here & I will certainly take it all into consideration. I do like the flesh tribute kinda idea a lot & will be bringing M.U.S.C.L.E. with me when I go to pick the guys brain when purchasing my first bit o casting material.

I do think however that the first run might possibly be a surprise if I can keep it in... but that's what the wife told me to do with these pictures until you guys got yours in the mail ;)

Oh yeah and the little sandstone guys, there will most likely be one or 2 tagging along with the next round of sculpts as well. I want to keep it to 6 figures per set & so far I only have 3 characters coming up.

Thanks,

Luke

I'm quite diggin' the little silver guy (bottom right of the picture 3 posts before) you sent me. He just arrived. I am actually rather impressed at the weight of the piece. I really wouldn't change anything, it has that personal touch which is better untampered with by anyone but the creator!
