You get a cheaper ticket price buying them in advance rather than buying them at the door.
The only thing to worry about is the hotel...they book up fast. Oh and plane tickets too!
I will be leaving on Thursday morning early to drive to Chicago and I will be staying at the Hyatt with my wife (3 nights). I thought that the extra $ was worth it to stay in the main hotel that is connected to the convention (so you can easily run your loot back to your room.
We used the train/subway system to go to downtown. All wives and girlfriends are welcome...last year, the ladies went with us to the show for a couple of hours, to register their tickets for the exclusives, then they left to go shopping/hang out downtown and then the guys had the females out of our hair!!!
The females were happy, the guys were happy, life was GREAT!!!
At night, the Hyatt is buzzing with ALL the artists, dealers, cosplay people, weirdos, etc...It is a blast!!!

Jkaris just told me he is planning on coming...
Orca needs to split a hotel room...
Let's get some concrete idea of how many people are for sure going, how many think they will go, how many might go, and who isn't gonna go.

I hope you and your woman come!I'm here in Atlanta...NC shouldn't be too bad a drive...
It is gonna be a BLAST!
Artimus/Arthur is wanting to come...I told him and Orca/John to talk to Jkaris/Johnny to work out a hotel 3 ways!!! That would cost them $150 each for a total of 3 nights! 3 nights for me in the Hyatt (the best hotel for the CC) is gonna cost me $500 or so.
This is really gonna be kewl if we get a bunch of collectors together for this!

I do have some bills coming up (licence, registration, and I have to take my truck in for a tune-up, blah, blah, blah... ). But I'm very interested in seeing how ugly you guys really are in person!

Man...sounds like you are bailing...you puss!I'm going to be a last minute kinda guy myself...July/August is crop time for our farm. My dad and uncle are seniors so i can't expect them to do all the long hrs and all the heavy work. Besides, last time i took a vacation during crop season the hired help broke a lot of stuff and collapsed the hayloft floor with too much hay in a weaker section of the hayloft, dispite my orders not to put anything there in the first place.....and i'm the guy that pulls everything together and makes the situations work when the weather goes sour......i'm indispensable

I'll go if the crops are done. I'll have plenty of options for a non-stop flight via Vancouver or Seattle , its just what i'm going to wind up paying and what a room would cost once i got there if i can't split a room with some members of the board. The trip will cost me anywhere from $1000-$1500 Canadian.....and that's being ultra cheap. The high end is $2000-$2200 for 3 days......
