Yeah... they've had the "collectors" sitting on pins and needles drooling over these... teasing with spotty releases... the rest of the market will just be happy to eat 'em up when they come out everywhere... so as I said before... their marketing seems to be working very well.

You don't need to shove everything in people's face to sell it.

Have any of you ever seen a commercial that effectively uses silence? That is a very effective technique. So this is either a "happy accident" to quote the great Bob Ross or a very smart marketing campaign that tests the market while at the same time teasing would be collectors.

I got lucky and found a set at a TRU in the next-town-over this morning!

Here are the Toys-r-Us SKUs, if it helps anybody. You should be able to call the stores around you and have an employee look up whether they have these or not.

12pack:
039897420639

3packs:
039897420103
039897420059
039897420080
039897420042

That would be great if you could pick me up a 12 pack and a set of 4 packs. I am a truck driver
That goes all over the northeast, I have checked a couple dozen tru stores and none of them have
These toys up here!

I also deliver to kmarts reguarly (2 3 times a week) in ny nj ct pa vt nh and me, and I always check for th slugs there, so if I see any start to show up I'll let you guys know.

I will check the TrU's in my city for you - last I was there they had quite a few packs.

Well obviously no one here knows. Why don't you email Jakk's Pacific and ask them?

Here's their contact page:

Has anyone found a way to tell which figure is in the mystery pack without opening it? Codes, makings etc?

Do these people realize that (for this first series at least) the only figures that come in the single packs are the 8 non-exclusives.

Can you imagine: *rip* "aww, a non-exclusive", *rip* "another non-exclusive", *rip* "man, another non-exclusive, when will I find a Mighty Bite Mac?!" *rip* *rip* *rip*, "well that's the whole box".

I kind of hope they keep it this way, because if in later series they actually start adding exclusives to the single packs this type of behavior could turn into a serious problem.

no matter what, there's gonna be this problem. the toys r us near me has 12packs that are ripped open also, and you find this alot in collector card packs where they'll open packs in stores, or some people can even "pack-search" without opening the packs. very dirty and underhanded stuff in my opinion.....but sadly will always be a problem

Oddly enough I don't notice this happening with other blind packaged toys that are being sold widely today like those Gogos Crazy Bones things. Maybe people think they are going to be able to look in the cardboard box and re-seal it but end up damaging the box in the process?

I have to admit, I remember peeking in MIMP secret 12 packs when I was a kid to see which ones were in there. But I think that was able to be done pretty easily without damaging the boxes at all.

i see alot of gogo's and those star wars pods opened around me, and i'm a gpk card collector, and find packs constantly opened or "PACK SEARCHED" by people looking for the good hits to sell on ebay. either way, i hate it and stores don't seem to be concerned with the card pack searchers whatsoever. i like blind packed stuff, but would feel more comfy if they were actually inside of a blister type packaging on top of the blind bagging, but i'm sure people would still open it for the almighty dollar

Cool. Let us know if it's the wave 1 figures when you get it. Entertainment Earth doesn't even show the wave 1 sets as temporarily out of stock anymore. Still waiting on my carrying case set pre-order from them.

Well I just got my 3 packs from Entertainment earth today. I have a feeling that when the guy said the survivors were gonna be chase figures, he meant they would be the 3 pack exclusives. As every 3 pack seems to have 1. Now I just need the 12 pack of series 2 to have that set down. Still need the 3 pack series 1 exclusives.

anyway here's some pics.
