Some news on upcoming MOTUSCLE releases!

http://www.pixel-dan...g-to-power-con/

"On the latest episode of He-Man.org’s Roast Gooble Dinner Podcast, Super7’s own Brian Flynn announced that there will be a Power-Con Exclusive M.O.T.U.S.C.L.E. item featuring translucent green “slime” M.O.T.U.S.C.L.E. mini figures packaged in a vintage-style M.U.S.C.L.E. trash can that will be designed to pay homage to the vintage MOTU Slime Vat!"

Brian also revealed on the show that there will be regular “trash can” releases as well, which will have a mix of colors in each can that will draw from the nine alternative vintage American M.U.S.C.L.E. colors: Neon Orange, Salmon, Magenta, Red, Neon Green, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Light Purple, Dark Purple. Specific mix of colors yet to be revealed. The lid of the can will be based on the vintage MOTU slime vat, but will feature Skeletor’s face embossed on the lid instead of Hordak.

cool, so the other "normal" cans I guess they'll have in their webstore eventually, or...?

That's what I assumed. I think only the Slime ones are the con exclusives.

Just re-read and noticed the con-exclusives are just the figs cast in trans-green.

I misread at first and thought they were going to be packed in trans-green slime inside the can and was bummed the non-con ones wouldn't have any slime haha

Here is a He-Man.org podcast from 2/4 that featured Brian Flynn of Super7. Near the end, there is a whole section devoted to MOTUSCLE and other new MUSCLE licenses from Super7.

http://roastgooble.l...t-gooble-dinner

Some interesting points that were discussed:

  • Alien and Robotech are still planned and mentioned as "in process," so should be coming soon. Street Fighter was also specifically mentioned. He also said "a bunch of other licenses" were secured and are in the works.
  • Series 2 of the MOTU ones are still being sculpted and probably won't come out until early 2017.
  • He confirmed that the "Slime" Power-Con exclusive release will just be translucent green figures in the can, no actual slime.
  • The cans with different color figures are not exclusives but should be ready in time to be sold at SDCC. All 12 sculpts will be made in all colors, so it will be possible to put together full color sets.
  • The flesh figures will not be sold in the cans.
  • The subject of the harder vs. softer rubber came up. When they were developing the line, they tested the figures with both the firmer and more rubbery durometers, and ordered the firmer material but got sent the softer ones by mistake. That's why the first run sold included the softer figures.
  • He knows the guy who sculpted almost all of the original kinkeshi/MUSCLE, but couldn't get him to sculpt the MOTUSCLE because he won't do stuff related to Kinnikuman anymore. They are using multiple people to sculpt the new figures.

Purple Skeletor is the only MOTUSCLE that I picked up, but I'll definitely get the Mega Man figures if the sculpts look good.

I'm kinda on the fence with megaman. Since there are so many keshi available and the sculpts probably won't be as good. But I guess I will have to wait and see.

This is why I wasn't super excited for the Mega Man or Street Fighter lines.

But if they follow the old pricing model, it works out to $6 for a 3-pack, which is pretty decent.

I'll probably end up picking all of these up, and a can of color MOTU...

Yeah, Smotes, I am kind of leery of the Megaman stuff... But I am really curious as to what the G&G ones look like. I am not really feeling the other brands that they've shown thus far, though.

Those SF guys drawn in the packages look baby-shit soft.

I'm warming up to the robotech stuff, but the sdf-1 should be a play set and not a minifigure.
