Has anybody seen these guys yet? The game itself is basically a glorified form of Craps (the version with the dice, for all you gutter-minded people), but the 3" figures are awesome- I own Rikio and Shoen, and I *might* get some of the little dice guys. I don't think that I'll collect too much of the series, though.

Your thoughts?

I saw them two weeks ago at TRU nad haven't been back so I haven't gotten any, but the 3" figures sure do rock! I want Rugi, and Rikio, the other two look stupid.

Characters like Rikio DO look like something out of Japanese mythology, though.

Yea I saw them at stores too and I thought the double-head dragon one was so cool and for some unknown reason- adorable.

I might buy the double-head dragon one myself and I dont think I will be buying much of them though.

I saw them at TRU last week. I would have gotten some, but I was already plunking down a lot of cash for a Unicron figure so I decided to come back later for the Jagun Fighters. I like them. I thought the preview pics I saw of them were pretty cool. And they look even better in person. I'm probably going to pick up all of the larger action figures. I like the spinning eye gimmick. It combines two of my most favorite things in one package: toys and gambling!

I agree with Ridureyu, these figures reminded me more of characters from Japanese mythology rather than robots.

I also saw some of those right before I left MD, at my local K-Mart, but I didn't feel interested enough to buy any figure but the dragon. Plus, I thought my mom wouldn't appreciate me buying another figure (especially one from a line I currently don't collect... she's somewhat supporting of my collecting) right before I left for college. <_< Maybe if I stop by Meijer or Wal-Mart and see that cool dragon, I'll get it, but I'm trying to save up for a booster box of Mirrodin (Magic players, you know what I'm talking about... :D ) and perhaps Unicron, so I wouldn't be too sure...

I play Magic but I have no idea what you're talking about. But I'm somewhat new to the game.

Why do most people like the dragon. I like dragons and I think it is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

Why would you want a whole box. You'd get many duplicates, and I doubt you could sell them for very much. I get about three boosters and a starter of about every CCG or minatures game I collect. I really don't see a point in such an excess.

as soon as i found out that these were part of a game, i lost all interest.

for whatever reason, i was expecting figures around the same size and style as "mobile suit in action". i mean, are these just figurines, or are they actual action figures? from what i could tell, they didn't look to have any articulation...

There are two different sets of figures. There are the smaller non-articulated figures similiar to Heroclix. Then there are the large 6.5" action figures with articulation. I won't get the non-articulated small ones. I'll stick with the 6.5" action figures.

I saw them at TRU while i was buying some sd gundams. I bought a pack of the small dice things, the 3 pack, just to see what it was all about. I like some of the figs, i dont care about the game. rikio is the coolest looking, i thought the dragon was kinda a rip of monster zero (king gihdara, something like that, 3 headed dragon from godzilla.)

The game is way simple, but you need five of those dice to play. 2 have to be those 4 sided ones, but i only saw those in the $8 starters. All in all its just a another collectable game.

There we go.

I started picking the dice up for these after I noticed that some of the sculpts are drawn from Japanese mythology. I'm really impressed with the style, which is a lot more detailed than I realized initially. They look and feel great in-hand and have a nice weight to them. Here are the ones I have so far: Hidden Cove and Magical Sorcerers

Glad you're enjoying those, Bachamn!

I picked up that pack that I eventually sold you for that very reason: the recognizable Japanese folklore characters.

The Haniwa took it over the top.", for me. I had been playing lots of Animal Crossing and my curiousity about the Gyroids lead me to research those. When I saw a Haniwa, a Tengu, and a Kappa all in one set, I couldn't pass it up.
