You've got great taste.  I need that picture.   Even though King himself dislikes it, I absolutely love the film.    Have you seen the recent documentary?  If not, you really should.   B)

Crystar Lava Dragon with rider. Remco put out a lot of wonderfully wonky stuff, would like to start collecting Crystar figures.

I have not yet, but I read about it and am most certainly planning on watching it. I don't know why S.K. dislikes the movie so much...it is by far one of the best adaptions that were ever made. Kubrick just knew how to breathe new life into things and make them even more surreal. Years and years ago I watched that movie and thought, "how awesome would it be to have that prop from the movie?" It took me this long to realize that someone else probably thought the same thing and that there would be replica's on ebay...lol.

King's main issue with the Kubrick film is the arc (or lack of, in his opinion) of the Jack Torrence character.  His main beef being, Jack becomes a raving mad, dry drunk lunatic in his book, while in the Kubrick film, Jack is a pretty vile and unlikable bastard from the first few scenes.  By the time they are heading to the lodge along that mountain road, you are already thinking "Ohhh God, Wendy, get yourself and the kid away from this prick!".

As King himself puts it:  "In my story, the hotel burns.  In the Kubrick film, it freezes.  Read into that what you will."   (The constant checking on the overburdened boiler, of course, being a metaphor for Jack himself becoming more and more unsteady until he finally 'erupts'.)

The sequel, Doctor Sleep, was a good read.  Here's hoping that Hollywood doesn't eff this one up.  I had been waiting for years to see what became of Danny Torrence, and I wasn't disappointed.

The scene with Dick talking to Danny about their shared abilities still gets to me, every damned time.   "Well you know, Doc, when something happens, it can leave a trace of itself behind.  Say like, if someone burns toast..."

So true.

I've always wanted them but it's never been a priority. One of those, "if I find it for next to nothing" kind of things. They're cool, but not cool enough to spend any real amount of money on.

The Micronauts Aliens are some of my favorites.   The Time Travelers and heroes are cool, but nothing beats those iconic Aliens.   Man, what 70s memories...

Yep.  Mego Corp brought much of the line over from Takara, and created a bunch of their own, as well.  I got Repto first, followed by Membros and Antron.

The Micronauts line is a thing of legend.  The influence is everywhere.

Yet another reason why there could never be a cooler period than 1975-1985:

Ha!  I have that little articulated Ankylo around here, somewhere.  Didn't know it was part of the DR line.

Also, why not treat yourself to a set?  Based on 'completed listings', they seem cheap enough.

It seems like this thread is also turning into a great way for folks to discover and hopefully BUY some stuff on Ebay!!!

So in that spirit, I got a message in my Ebay inbox that yesterday and today it's TRIPLE Ebay bucks for anything over $50.

If you are close to hitting your $5 Ebay buck minimum (or perhaps you are pretty far away still) this is a good way to quickly bump yourself over that limit before the end of June!!!

Check your Ebay inbox and maybe you have gotten the same message.  Hopefully save you guys some money! : )

(but do it quickly - the offer I found expires today)

I am not a TMNT collector but I love the companions due to their details and just great designs. However one TMNT character trumps all of them. KRANG!!!!! He is a mini figure and in the android body is like a body builder or something as well. Something about that goofy android body and that awesome krany krang brain in it just makes me happy every time I see it!!!

I'd take the old school one any day:

http://www.ebay.com/...=item4aebe84eaf

This new one wouldn't be unwelcomed either:

http://www.ebay.com/...=item3f4d015f4a

Shredder: thats quite a brain you got there, Krang!
Krang: Of course it is, its all Ive got!
