My first console was the Sega Master system master system and since then I bought the following;
Sega cd,snes,dreamcast,nomad,gameboy,gameboy advance,gameboy sp,ds,dsi xl,3ds xl,ps1,ps2,ps3,xbox,xb360,psp,gamecube & the wii.

I have to say that the most surprisingly fun console I have had over that period is the Playstation Vita. If you got it early on as I did and had the playstation plus membership you got to download tonnes of free games including indie games and got deals on PS1 and PS2 games that looked perfect on a portable system.

If you get a chance to buy the original OLED version you won't be disappointed. There are a lot of youtube videos listing the great games on the Vita. I even bought the playstation TV so I can play most of the games on my bedroom TV.

Sincerely
Mike

I love my Vita. I don't own a lot of games but I play Spelunky regularly. I also love other indy games like Binding of Issac, Risk of Rain, Rouge Legacy, Hotline Miami, among others. I'm patiently waiting for Salt and Sanctuary to come to the Vita.

I just wish Ruin(or Warrior's Lair) wasn't canceled. The idea of that game pretty much sold me on getting a Vita in the first place.

I still remember the first time I finished the Hell stage in Spelunky.  I eventually had to delete it from my memory card and PS3 due to its addictive nature. I am sure we will continue to get downloadable games for it for a while.

I was really into the psp scene for the first few years when it first came out, ran the different homebrew OS (never bricked one).

Making psp games out of ps1 games was alot of fun, but sadly i was burnt out by the time vita came out.

I still have a PSP and would love to figure out how to hack it and put SNES titles on it one day. I never knew you could convert PS1 games yourself.

I'm sure there are some decent tutorials still online that could guide you in that process.

PSP is by far my favorite console for emulation. Playing so many PSX and a megaton of Arcade (MAME) games had me glued to the PSP for a long while.

That is exactly why I recently bought a second PSP (for $30 BNIB )  :) my only problem is not having or wanting to install a torrent program. One day I will buy a spare laptop and hack the PSP.  You are right, its pretty awesome.
