Congrats man
And I just noticed the prize photo that there's a Get-Along Gang minifigure in the back. I didn't know they even made those. I had that orange jumpsuit guy as a plush when I was little.

Is your contest going to be in 2014?
Posted 08 June 2014 - 03:34 PM
Probably. It's been rather busy as of late, but I should be able pull it together within the next 6 months.
If you haven't got the time to log onto a website and post a contest, (a contest which requires little-to-no effort on your behalf), you probably shouldn't enter in one.
The whole point of Forever Yes, is that it continues. Forever.
When you drop off the web for almost a month, that gets in the way of that. Next time, be sure to pen in some time for these things.
At the very least, you could have popped on for a moment to let everybody know you were going to be awhile.

Proposed new rule: anyone who enters a contest and doesn't follow the rules gets a suspension (or banhammer if it is serious enough).

One: that's pretty bogus. Being a wise-ass about reneging on the terms of a contest, is even more bogus. I'll echo the sentiment, that you probably shouldn't have joined the contest if you knew you were so busy.
If you're about to chortle about the pettiness of this, I'll remind you that YOU VOLUNTEERED to be in that last contest and dogged out on it.
Two: the rest of you dogged out on winning a five pound box of toys. Stop crying.
Three: Behemoth, I don't know if this is a bannable offense, but it definitely warrants a second look.
I think it would be if there was some history of other stuff, or if they NEVER started another contest. To me that is just stealing. I suspect he will eventually have a contest, and is just being a jerk. That to me would be a suspendable offense.
If he doesn't start one, then I will dig something up and start one myself.

I hope not. I hate to see stuff like that happen. There are many good people in this community and to do something like that spits in the face of everyone that tries to be a good member of the board. That's why I get so pissy when I see it.

I wasn't trying to come off as a jerk, just replying back to a comment that I found humorous, as was my response meant to be. But I don't post a ton here so I can see my comment being taken the wrong way. I had looked for rules on the contest and didn't see a timeframe rule, only that the winner had to do one in return. So I like I said I'll definitely get one up soon for everyone.I think it would be if there was some history of other stuff, or if they NEVER started another contest. To me that is just stealing. I've learned the hard way that sarcasm can come off worse than intended when typed.
There are are no hard rules per se, but generally the idea is that it continues forever, so the contest shouldn't have long breaks. It's inherent to the concept, but perhaps it needs to be spelled out for the newjacks.

Yes, it seems anythying that is obvious needs to be pointed out in rules or someone will use the excuse that it wasn't in the rules. Kind of like editing your bid in an LRG auction. Obviously it isn't ok, but it wasn't in the rules so some schmuck pointed to that when he was called on his BS.
So we should add a time frame to the existing rules when posting a yes contest I guess?
And yes, sarcasm is even less likely to be taken as intended when it comes in response to someone putting you on the spot.

I think the requirement on Nilla's contest of posting a pic of the toys you will give away if you win would be a good requirement going forward. Who cares if less than 10 people enter? At least you know it's people that really want the toys being offered and are ready to start the next contest right away.

Nilla and I both said in ours that your prize will be mailed when you start your contest. I think thats a goo rule, (hence why I stole it from Eric).
I support this as the new rule for Forever Yes. The Nilla Rule!
