Ever since I was really little, I've had a light green plastic dinosaur mini that I wasn't able to identify. Recently, after stumbling onto some photos online, I discovered that it's from a set by Topps released in 1988 as "Dino Toys with Candy Eggs," and was able to track down a full set of figures as well as packaging! These are pretty awesome dino minis that I haven't seen discussed here, so I thought I'd post about 'em. I've also featured them on Little Weirdos.

This release was very similar to Topps' GPK Cheap Toys with Crummy Candy, except with dinosaurs instead of GPK figures. Like Cheap Toys, they were individually blind bagged along with a checklist and pack of cheap, chalky candy. The individual packs were sold out of a box that's also similar to the Cheap Toys box.

There are 12 different sculpts, each made in 3 different colors -- brown, gray and light green. They're made of hard plastic.

I also have some close-up pics of all the sculpts in the blog post linked above.
These have quickly become some of my favorite dino minis. The sculpts are really nice and the similarity to Cheap Toys makes them even more fun. I'm surprised they haven't gotten more attention. Anyone else into them/remember them?
