At the park I go to, there is one lady who said she has 900+ Pez candy dispensers. A guy I work with, his wife has 100s and 100s of Beanie Babies.

Thought I might as well bump this....

I do believe there is A difference between collecting a series that is still going compared to a series that has nothing new coming out. (i.e. collecting Star Wars compared to collecting Battle beasts.)

An evergreen property will likely always have fans of it so it is a lot easier for one to feel like they are not wasting time or money on it because new material is coming out for it. Just a thought....

Have a good day!

For me there is a big different between a collection that has a defined end point and one that does not.

Like your example of battle beasts. You can collect all 76 or whatever and then boom, it’s over. But i really like bootlegs and knockoffs and collecting something like that is a lot more interesting to me. There is no end point. Stuff pops up from all over the world that no one has seen before and it’s more about discovering and obtaining unique pieces than it is achieving a defined goal. It keeps the sense of wonder in collecting for me.

Yeah, I think that was what I was trying to say with that. A property like Disney or Star Wars will most likely always have something coming out to collect for it, so it is different.

Have a nice day!

Some people like to search for bargains getting a buzz out of purchasing pieces for less than the going rate with no real rush for completion or specific goal setting, just enjoying the bits they do fortunately aquire for great prices.
