since all of us seem to be insane collectors of these things I'm assuming you've all read the mini series that came out in comic form for Battle Beasts.

SO. HORRIBLE.

I'm of the opinion that I can live without knowing the official 'story' of the Battle Beasts and Laser Beasts. The little factoids on the packages and such were enough for me to invent a rich world of craziness on my own.

I'm wondering if the whole marketing department just sorta invented stories and mythos behind the series after the fact.

Quite honestly though, I think these things were so cool to me as a kid because there was a RAD commercial for them with animation leading one to believe a show would come around and that there was no official story to them other than how their internal fighting played out (rocks paper scissors rehash). It was like, the ultimate tease to a kid. A quick hit of marketing and then NOTHING in the way of explanation.

God help me I still love these damn little things. I'm not sure I had a point to this thread.....but the comic sucked. I guess that's what I wanted to say.

I remember the commercial! I have never watched ep. #3 of the TF: Headmasters series so I'm not shure if those were shots from that episode. I'm also thinking that since hasbro did have the lisence there might have been plans for a cartoon via Transformers and GI Jio, the commercial was done in the same style. Any have any more info?
