When Nexo Knights first came out I really, really liked the minifigure design.  However, the entry level set series worried me. An app? Another funky stationary display?  Anyhow, of course I still bought them up, but they sat sealed up in a bin until tonight!  The old lady is on a business trip, so its LEGO time!

For tonight I built Macy - the bada$$ lady knight with amazingly cool red transparent armor and a nice HUGE mace.

Behold.  I am very pleased with the set.  Oddly enough, I really enjoy this display.  Granted this is only 1 of 6, so we will see how I feel overall later.  But I am very pleased at this point.  Cool design, great look, nice display.  Overall, I am really looking forward to the next 3 that I own, still gotta find the last two.

So next up........Lavaria!

Lavaria is pretty badass.  Reminds me of Purgatorti.  Or maybe a harpy bred with a zabrak.

Also, there are 6 characters in those little power packs. ;)

This line has a lot of awesome baddies.

I've got the guy from the poly bag. (That may or may not be a LEGO store exclusive.)

Behold - Clay.

After building set #2 in the series, I am even more impressed.  I really think the clear, bright colored armor is great.  I like the interchangeability of the weapons with the items on the display.  I like how the crests mount to the display on swivels. This applies to both Macy & Clay.

Clay is really cool - his giant accessory arms, tipped with clear blue ice blades, are adjustable and the blades spin!

I think my only (minor) complaint is on the design of the back mounted accessories.  Macy cannot stand with hers, they are just to big.  Clay's work fine, though, so we are at half and half.  We will see how the next few stack up.

Enjoy!

I am almost done selling off most my other toys to focus on Lego and Battle Beasts. Not only are the Nexo Knights a really cool concept but their weapons look great on Beasts too.  Good review OTP.

Those weapons do look pretty sharp on your Beast.

One of these days I will photograph my last few NEXO Knights and finish up the review................if there were but world enough and time.

I'm really 50/50 on this line!

When it's good, it's over-the-top AWESOME. When it's bad, it's pretty bad.

The good guys seem fleshed out pretty well, with plenty of cool things to build. But my interests are on the baddies, and I feel like they're an after thought.

Contrary to my post above, I've since got the chance to take a good look at the sets currently available and I was surprised to see a lot of generic bad guys in the sets.

Yeah some of the bad guys in the sets are mehhhh.  A few are AWESOME though, at least IMO.

I agree with Eric, Book of Monsters is elite.  I also like Moltor & love Scurrier & Jestro.

The scurriers are honestly the shining stars for the bad guys. I like Book of Monsters and Moltor as well, of course. Not a big fan of Jestro, and it seems like almost every single army building bad guy has a mohawk. (So cliche.)

I LOVE Sparkks, but I don't have any where to put a big guy like that right now. (And don't want to buy that big Jestro set, either.)

Did everyone see the new releases that just came out?  Looks like 4 new figures in the line.  I will post up a photo tomorrow.

So far I have only picked up one: FLAMA!

There appear to be 3 more based on the LEGO website and what I saw at Target: Axl, Magmar, and Lance.

Does anyone know how the line is doing, by the by? Sets are already on sale at my local TRU. (Sale, not clearance. But still.)

How cheap is this sale?  I don't really have any idea how they are doing, but I personally really like the series.  Just picked up another of the new ones.
