has there ever been a Little Rubber Guy stick figure or keyboard drawing contest. The idea being to make the most simplistic stick figure you can, yet give it the appearance of a LRG figure. The winner is the stick figure that draws in the most detail with the least amount of ink! Definitely would make even the most artistic cringe.

Actually Brojo, we have had a few entries within the similar vein of your suggestions in contests past. Usually there is an "any Medium" rule for them.

If the year goes well, and we get great entries every month. We can have a poll to determine the overall Art Challenge Champion of 2010 by pitting every months winner against each other.

Then I'd like to suggest an end of the Year "Art Challenge Trash-OFF!" Where everyone who is willing, and still has any, can post a scan or photo of an old piece of art they scribbled or threw together years earlier.. like 5 years or older preferably.

I like the Art Challenge Champion of 2010. I think that would be fun. That way more enties would enter on every challenge. Maybe winning something by the end of the year. I dont know about the Art Challenge Trash-Off.

I like the grand champion idea as well.

Can I suggest bringing the contests back down to a month to month basis rather than two months? Seems people always wait for the last few days to enter anyways and its hard for me to track a contest I am interested in when there are 2-3 things going on at once in addition to polls etc...

Doc, we can drop it back down to one monthers if majority wants it so, but I'd personally like to wait till the 2011 challenges, since the 2010s are already scheduled. That reminds me, do you still want your claw challenge pushed back farther in the calendar?

Should we vote on best of 2009?

I was just throwing it out there as a suggestion, its really up to the artists since I dont enter these, I just enjoy looking at them. It just seems like most people wait till the last couple days anyways so why not do it on a monthly basis. Anyways, regarding the claw challenge, its looking like I am not going to be able to do what I wanted to do so whenever you want to do it I will think of something. Not sure if I will be able to reward the people as well as last year though.

Best of '09 poll would be interesting.

IMHO two months is good, as there's not always a lot of time to work on a project. Yes, people might post it the last week, but they could have been working on it the whole time. Seems like it would increase participation.

one could argue that most people "last minute" these so what's the point of keeping it at two months. also, with the schedule for the year already posted, if you need extra time on something, you could always start your project months in advance. but i say, if it isn't broke, don't fix it. i like the two months even though i rarely have time to enter any of these.

Also, don't forget that the challenge calendar only covers "art" challenges. If anyone wants to do a custom or caption or any other type of challenge, feel free to post it without worry of conflict to the F A Cs.

I have finally (finally!!!)gotten my computer working, after 6+ months of spotty-at-best online access. I know I've let you all down, so I'm going to try and rebuild from the damage I've possibly caused. I'll try and track down the finished challenges to do the long-overdue polls. Computer fail is no excuse, and I must apologise to all of you. I've missed lrg 2.0 greatly, and I will try to be here more.

There looks to be some kick ass artists over at October Toys. We should invite them to come participate on the next FAC. Add them to our own batch of awesome talent and we will have the best FAC yet!!!!

BTW, where has Scummy been?
