I haven't seen anything about Rivet Wars here yet. If you're a minfigure collector, you've got to check out the Rivet Wars toy line. You'll be glad you did. :D

Sweet! I love the design, and hope he gets to produce lots more in the series.

Interesting to know that this started out as an OMFG Series 2 submission, but then took on a life of it's own. Awesome concept!

At first, "Rivet Wars" sounded like what will me the most difficult part of the final stage of my quest for an Airframes and Powerplants license. But then I clicked the link, and those things are pretty sweet! I'm thinking I might have to get one, and I'm wondering if actual rivets were used in the design.

Current collecting goal: obtain all 148 Monster In My Pocket Series 1 figures in regular colors (71.62% there)

So many toys, so little money!

"Pretty sweet" were the words that sprang to my mind too. I'd like to see what he does next though. Tank seems a little lost on its own without other models of mech.

Agreed. I added a pic of several green/browns ones to give my odd yellow and blue ones some context.

Also, my little comment in the entry might not make it clear, but his next piece is shaping up to be a true walker mech. Hopefully with a pilot. (Maybe removable? :o )

He just went big time!

http://www.rivetwars.com/?p=510

Looks like he is working with a couple people to produce a Rivet Wars Board Game, one of them is "Cool Mini Or Not" who helped bring Zombicide to the masses.

Hell Yeah!

Next set of goals are up. 125K down and plastic counters, custom dice, generals to plug into the hatches and double infantry once this hits 225K. This is getting to be a better and better package for the price.

Doesn't look like a super complex game based on the gameplay video. Definitely going to support it. I love the design, and hope that they can get some cool stuff produced for it!

What plastic will they be using for the figures? Unfortunately I'd guess it'd be that cheap polystyrene that you have to snap off a sprue.

I'm going to guess the same plastic that they use for Zombicide which is like what they make Army men out of. Slightly bendy and highly detailed.

I believe PVC was mentioned early in the campaign. Also since they're aiming this at the board game market rather than wargamers once this hits retail the figures are going to come preassembled.

Yes, I know they're pre-assembled, it says it on the site, but I'd assume they'll still have come off a sprue at some point.

The sculpts are extremely impressive, but I'm not sure I could justify spending that much on what are essentially glorified dollar store army men.

I happily dropped $150 on the Zombicide set with extras solely for the figures. That being said, I found the gameplay to be loads of fun for my son and I. We've played with other friends as well and have a blast every time.

I have one of his first casts of the light vert tank. It was worth the $15 or $20 (can't remember the cost). I'll buy the Rivet Wars set for the figures as well, and I am hoping that the game itself is fun. If the game is ho-hum, then I'll be happy with the figures. If the game is enjoyable, then I will be super happy!

Here is a demo game play video to give you an idea of figure size.

Yeah I dropped the bliz level pledge myself. Just love the theme of this game. And since I dont have the time to wargame anymore, I can sneak this into my board gaming group.
