Showcase #56: Bandai Kinnikuman Clay Repressor Superhuman Production Machine (Chojin/Kinkeshi Maker)
This is a piece in my collection that I like but will never actually use. It's also a piece of MUSCLE history in that inside this "Chojin/Kinkeshi Maker", you have the plastic trash can we all know and love in the Mattel line (but in Japan it was apparently common as I have seen the same trash can in a "Super Sentai Maker" very similar to this one).
It's very similar to Play-Doh and it comes with 4 plastic sculpt forms (Buffalo Man, Ramen Man, Robin Mask & Kinnikuman).
I bought mine new from Mandarake and it was surprisingly cheap (6,885 yen) but I have seen it sold for upwards of 12,000-15,000 yen on yahoojapan for some reason.
I don't think you have a market for this product and it's probably only for hardcore collectors or completist like me.
I had it in storage and since now I am finally placing my entire Kinkeshi collection in 2 glass Detolf cases I have decided to add random playsets (rings) or something like this for display purposes.
The art in the box alone is worth it for me, especially the instructions which often came in the outer box of Kinnikuman products as opposed to an actual leaflet inside.
It even suggests making a mixed color Kinkeshi.
However I would say the size of "Kinkeshi" would be similar to those from the Morinaga line and are as big (bigger than regular Kinkeshi).
