All right, I'm going to employ the patented Tortle format for toy reviews. Thanks, Nathan.

First, I'm a big fan of the outlandish and sometimes silly mobile suits from G Gundam. They are unrealistic but their nationality themed designs make me smile.

Looks: 4.5 out of 5
I just like the way the Dark Army mobile suits look. The one eye, the spike on the top of the helmet and the bulky shoulders. Plus, you can morph him into a 4 legged mobile suit! Very cool. The color scheme isn't that exciting but it is not offensive. Mustard yellow and brown with a little red to keep the figure from looking too nuetral. The paint job is pretty standard stuff for Gundams. Solid but nothing spectacular.

Articulation: 4.5 out of 5
Plenty of excellent articulation with this mobile suit. There is articulation at the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hip, knee and ankles. This mobile suit has plenty of poseability.

Accesories: 2.5 out of 5
The Dark Army mobile suit comes complete with a very thick gun with spikes as well as a pretty long and skinny rifle. They are both in generic grey with no paint detailing. The gun is neat but the rifle is boring. The generic grey with no detail makes the accesories a little blah. There are also a total of 4 hands. Two closed fist hands and two open hands that can hold the weapons. They snap in and out of the arms without much strain.

Action Features: 3.5 out of 5
The figures morphs from a standard two legged mobile suit into a bad arsed four legged mobile suit. The transforming is simple and easy. The standard legs simply fold up and behind the back of the mobile suit. Then the four legged base snaps into place under the pelvic area of the figure.

Coolness: 4 out of 5
I really like this figure. The articulation is excellent. The 4 legged form of this mobile suit just looks tough.

Overall: 3.8 out of 5
Overall, this is a solid and entertaining mobile suit. He is pretty neat looking and isn't as silly as some of the other G Gundam mobile suits. Even if the other G Gundam mobile suits don't strike your fancy this one might.

yeah, i've had this one for a few months. my only complaints being:

1) the "transformation" is far too rudimentary.

2) the figure never looks comfortable holding the long-range weapon.

other than that, totally dig them sneaking a zaku into the g gundam universe. ;)
