Okay. So I don't collect these things, you know? I mean, I'm still cool, even though I don't collect Garbage Pail Kids figures. I mostly collect Fighting Fantasy gamebooks, metal tapes, walkmans, and old sci-fi paperbacks. But I'm in this pawnshop last week, and they've got a wicker basket of fifty cent toys. I start going through it, pull out everything that's interesting to me, and haggle... I end up getting about seventy toys for eleven bucks. Some complete Mighty Max playsets, a bunch of old Army Ants, two Battle Beasts... and some GPKs. I took all the little rubber people, but I didn't really know what I was getting until I looked them up.

So I'm wondering if anybody's interested enough to make offers on these - particularly the Mickey and the Kathy - before I throw them on eBay. I'm a long-time seller there with perfect feedback, my handle's zaphod_beeblebrox.

The 2 Series 2 GPK Cheap Toys (Kathy & Mickey)are valued between $200~$300 each. Selling them on ebay would fetch $200 max IMHO. Awesome score BTW. There are collectors out there that only DREAM about finding stuff like that in a thrift/pawn shop.

Private sales is the way to go if you want to realise full whack for your GPK rares, yes. You ought to get more than on eBay.

Awesome score! It might be a long shot, but you should see if any of the series 1 GPK cheap toys float in water. If so, post a pic of them in the water.

Yeah, I threw them all in a pot of water when I realized what they were. No series 1 floaters... I can't be that lucky, I spose. Thanks for the pointer though.

Right now I'm looking at a 550-dollar offer for Mickey and Kathy. If anybody wants to go higher, I'd be delighted... but that's not up to me. I'm already pretty stoked, it's good not to have to worry about rent for a month.

I took a ridiculous number of pictures of the two Series 2 kids, just so people know exactly what they'd be getting and what the condition is exactly. They look pretty great, but there's a little wear on Kathy's hair. One thing: I couldn't find a little copyright stamp anywhere on Mickey or Kathy. Is that to be expected? It'd be pretty weird if these things were reproductions (being that I pulled them out of a basket containing hundreds of 80s-era toys) but I just want to be completely sure, cause this isn't penny candy here.

Here's some pictures.

Is the mimp anubis figure bottom left hard or soft plastic? if its hard you could get a decent amount for it, if its a soft one I'd be interested if no ones asked already as I've already got the hard plastic green version:)

There are no markings or copyright on Series 2 figs. The Novo green color is very saturated and appears very bold in natural light...and they float. Judging by the pics and your description they are definitely genuine. Kathy does have some light scuffing to the top ( The plastic is cheap and can damage and chip easily )
