I just got off the phone with Ira Friedman (the closest thing to a 'creative director' at Topps) and I brought up mini figures. He mentioned that they are currently discussing GPK mini figures (he said he couldn't tell me more than that). So now is the time to send in our suggestions. To be cohesive and not have random suggestions all over the place I went ahead and made one simple letter that we can all copy and paste to email Mr. Friedman. Just be sure to sign your own name at the bottom. He is awaiting our emails. and btw, one thing that he could tell me is that they are releasing a GPK book along the lines of the Wacky Packages books. I thanked him for his time and the overall feeling was very positive and friendly!
so here's the letter to copy and paste below and you can send it to his email at (snipped)
Hello Mr. Friedman,
Thanks for taking the time out of your schedule to listen to our creative input regarding the Topps Garbage Pail Kids line. You may already be aware of the significant demand for Garbage Pail Kids mini figures. Topps had already released a line of mini figures in 1986 called Garbage Pail Kids Cheap Toys. A continuation of this line would be ideal. And maybe Topps can call them ANS (All New Series) Cheap Toys.
Here are 3 quick bullet points that we would prefer in the mini figure line.
A. 1 & 1/2 inches in height or less
B. unpainted
C. flexible rubber
it's not a deal breaker but it is what we prefer and not painting the figures is one less step for production and well as one less cost.
Again thanks for your time Mr. Freidman and for all that you do.
Sincerely,
