Meatcutta won this cool little figure a while ago. Anybody have any idea what toy line it belongs to?

Take a look at these Gremlins Gizmo figures. They don't have thumbs and big toes like the above figure, so it doesn't seem to be a Mogwai.

:D

To me it looks like a knock-off or a "nice try" type of figure. We get things like this all the time at flea markets...guys like "The Amazing Spadermin" and "Space Warz" :M: We got an E.T. a while back...doenst SAY E.T. on the tag or list the company name anywhere mind you, but its him alright. (If he were crossed with an elephant lol)

Gotta love the Hong Kong bootlegs..great stuff!

Oh and dont forget the classic : "Ranger Fighter Monsters" :D

Sort of lookis like it came in a bag of plastic figures, like army men, or dinosaurs do.

I know I say this alot, but I've seen him before.

Well, I found this Web site earlier that was selling all kinds of Gremlins stuff... now I can't find it, even though I'm entering the same search terms. (I wonder if Google changes things around or something as the day progresses? )

Anyhow, I emailed the person selling all the stuff because they said they had a Paint-A-Figurine Gizmo MOC from Hasbro, but no picture. I thought the above sculpt might be it, so I emailed the Web master a pic of the figure with the following:

Hello, can you identify the brown figure in this picture? Any information about this figure would be appreciated! Thanks.

The person emailed back almost instantaneously ( ) and said:

It's gizmo, it's cute. I like that one.

I emailed back:

Are you sure? Most of the Gizmo sculpts I have seen don't have thumbs or big toes?

If it is a Gizmo, do you know what toy line it belonged to? is it the Paint-a-Figurine line from Hasbro?

They replied:

Yes, it's Canadian,

I wish I could find their Web page to show you that they seem to be "experts" about Gremlins -- or at the very least to have seen a lot of Gremlins toys. So, maybe it's... Canadian?

Edit: Found the Web site: M & E Gizmos!!

D'oh! I didn't even make that connection.

So why the extra digits? Do Canadians have thumb and big toe fetishes?

;)

don't we all?

So another very desirable figure from Canada? There must be some 25-35 year olds sitting on gold mines in Canada...MUSCLE colors, Cheap Toys, Gremlins....

Good work tracking it down Soups

Yeah, if this does turn out to be a Gizmo, maybe this a case similar to the "Ghost Busters" versus the "Real Ghost Busters" toy lines.

The Japanese are some of the biggest Gremlins collectors in the world! So I would try searching out Japanese collectors, their sites, and YHJ to see if you can find this series. You might find out what it actually is. I am not sold on the fact it is for sure Gizmo/Gremlins. It may be a bootleg or knock-off Gizmo/Gremlin. Usually if it was a licensed Gremlin figure it would look waaaaaaaaay more like the real deal. This figure looks to be something else or more likely an unlicensed Gizmo because it is not sculpted like the real Gizmo.

Just my 2 cents.
