Here is an idea for those extras or doubles we have in our collections :D

Since collecting the Japanese Kinnikuman Dekas (I now have 113 of the 117 & 13 pairs from the 14 pair Dekas) I acquired a ton of doubles and I just decided to start painting them instead of just trying to trade or sell them (luckily no one wanted to trade or buy lol).

Other fellow LRG members have been kind in helping me acquire what I was missing. Now that I almost done collecting them I make no allusions of getting the harder to find four Dekas I am missing. I heard from other LRG members that they run for big bucks but am a completist...so I am open to paying somewhat fair prices for them lol.

But I digress...

I started painting those said doubles for the first time in January for fun & just for myself since I felt I needed a hobby. I started experimenting with Acrylics (with a shine/without a shine/cheap acrylic paint/more expensive paint etc).

Not being an expert I just "DIY"...I was very inspired by the old box art from the Battle Royal sets and the 205 Collection.

Those old painted Kinnikuman figures in the Daishi gashapon backing boards for example have a certain charm to them, so that was my inspiration. I want them to look like that. Looking at Mikes work here at LRG was also an inspiration! super talented dude!

Since I have only seen painted /custom jobs on the small plastic Mattel figures or the vintage Kinkeshi but not too many Dekas. I had to just hope for the best in terms of the rubber and the acrylic (I have heard different opinions on putting a finish on them or not due to the rubber; I decided against it since am not playing with them and just have them on display).

So I just started buying more Kinnikuman Dekas in any condition to practice (some had all kinds of markings ranging from pen, stains & even burns!).

Getting them is quite inexpensive (on average I get them for 0.50 cents to $1 including shipping) however I always gotta watch out for shipping (a huge lot can end up being $12 to $15 but add the shipping and holy smokes!; hence why I only buy huge lots).

They look great on display, sometimes getting rid of those extra or doubles from our collection can be a pain but I think something like this can add a new collection of sorts.

Those look amazing dude!!

(Damn... I wish I had picked my DEKAS up at 50 cents to $1 each!! On average mine ran me in the neighborhood of $3 each)

Keep up the good work. Can't wait to see more pics!

I got ink stained Skullduggery and Slab deka figures about a decade ago and painted them to match their anime color schemes.  If you've still got plenty of extras, I might be interested in them if you simply want to get rid of 'em.  I liked the figures, but never really had the money to ebay hunt for them.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Here is an updated pic! I rearranged my painted Dekas display (I needed a plastic case for my other Dekas in order to display them in another room).

I almost fit all of them in a custom wooden ring a la WWF 1980's and left a few in another display case because it kinda looked like bleachers lol

Eventually I want to make it look like a stadium putting one display case on each side and a ring in the middle but I need to paint some more Dekas and I need more space! (the enemy of all collectors is money and space!)
