That would be quite amazing. But I doubt this could happen because many of us have contacted Mattel asking if they had any stock left of the G1 figures. They always say that they no longer carry them. I don't see how this could be possible, but if it did, you could bet that my arse would be at Walmart in a split second!

Maybe I'll give it a look....I didn't already because i thought he was probably just messin with me....but if your walmart is putting old stuff out, maybe mine is too (in which case I'll do backflips down the aisles when I see the figures)

He's more than likely pulling your chain. Even if they were setting out OLD warehouse stock, Wal-Mart wasn't around then to have any old MUSCLE stock.

I bet he is referring to the G2 figures.
My K B's have had robocop, earthworm jim, etc... not Walmarts! Walmarts don't ever carry old stuff. Their merchandisers never buy old stock!
Only K B / Toy liquidators deal in close out toys. No way that G1 box sets have shown up, unless Bandai is rereleasing the old ones.

my reasoning is my local walmart has been putting ronan warriors, earthworm jim and other old figs out lately.

Remember that all those figures are from the mid-90s. MUSCLEs were from the mid-80s, a full decade before EWJ and Ronin Warriors. That's a big difference...

Also remember that when MUSCLEs were out, many Walmarts weren't even built yet. How can a Walmart have 1985 stock when it didn't even exist back then?

Stores like Big Lots deal almost exclusively in close-out toys, and in fact, there was a report of a MUSCLE sighting in a Big Lots four or five years ago. That report was NEVER verified, though (and I checked my local Big Lots quite extensively for an extended period of time). I think it's unrealistic for any retail store to have stock from 20 years ago.

Your friend may be mistaken... was he sure he didn't mistake the new figures for the old?

The oldest figures I've found in a toy store were from the RoboCop TV series, Mortal Kombat, and Warriors of Virtue, all from the 90s. And I'm talking last year, not 10 years ago.

The last time i seen G1 MUSCLES in stores was in the early- mid 90's

a local Pharmacy (this is before CVS,and Wallgreens was Big) had colored 4 packs for sale for .98 cents

I bought them all and left four 4 packs sealed (must have been 12 packs total)

lol for some reason i had 2 of the packs on my wall and the other two thrown somewhere untill last night when i found them

now ill find a place for them somewhere on my wall lol

i wonder if mattell does have a bunch of these laying around...?
or if maybe they had them destroyed to write off for taxes...
i think i might try to write them, and see what's up, and if they'd get rid of them to collectors...

I believe that Darrin himself wrote Mattel to ask what had happened to all of them.

The last time I saw them was around 1990 in a Dollar General Store...

A HUGE amount of ten-packs(Colored). I'm talking bins full of them... for 2/$1.

I and the friend I was with both got two...

If I would have only known... Heh.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

I don't know about you, but that really makes me want to cry.....2 for a buck... no way no way... can't have been that easy it slipped through my fingers... could it?

My guess, Mattel has stack and stacks of these somewhere. Maybe we can get Geraldo Revara (sp?) to go into the secret hiding room of Mattel where they keep this stuff....

It costs money to store stuff in a warehouse and I doubt that mattel would be paying to let boxes gather dust for 20 years.

yeah, and usually big companies burn/ destroy whatever they've taken losses on, to save on taxes.
but, you never know if a company has plans to capitalize on nostalgia...
