I'm due to visit the USA in October and some random dude (and possible serial killer) that I sold a bunch of GPK stuff to a few years back has offered to act as host and guide. Not being one to miss the chance to save a few $$$, I've taken him up on his offer and decided to sculpt him something useless as a thank you.

I thought I'd share the progress pics now, just in case he is an axe murderer/poisoner like the wife suspects...

My original plan was to replace the head of a jumbo MotU figure with a portrait sculpt, but soon switched to the idea of doing a bobblehead/nodder...

I then had to think of a theme for the nodder; inspiration failed me, so I just went with Y-fronts and cowboy boots until I figured out where I was going to go with this...

It then struck me; have him wearing an American flag like a cape and carrying an AR-15, because nothing says America (to a non-American such as myself) like semi-automatic rifles and the Stars and Stripes!

The rifle is secured by two small neodymium magnets (to allow it to be swapped out for other props and to make it easier to transport without breaking) and the head sits on a small tack to give it maximum nodding power. I just need to decide on how I am going to decorate the base - like what is he standing on?! - and then give it a lick of paint.

I honestly think that this is probably the weirdest things I've made yet, but it's been a lot of fun and a great way to spend a night shift at work. :)
