I was looking over my Battle Beasts and I noticed that there are 2 versions of each rub sign. Here are some pics of the different ones. Has anyone else noticed this? IMG_1812.JPG 88.52K 3 downloads
Anyone know about standard Battle Beast Rub variants?

I've heard before that a lot of Beasts that were sold in Canada came with these rubs. That would make sense about the productions runs, as my experience for toys in Canada is that we get them MONTHS after the US does.

Draznar is correct here since so far most of the US, JP and EU Series 1 and 2 Beasts were always found with the normal B&W rub but suddenly some Series 1 Beasts with this new colored rub started to show up. When I kept an eye out for this looking at the origin of these lots the huge majority of these Series 1 and 2 with the color rubs always could be connected to Canada so if Draznar says their releases were quite a bit later than in the US this might be in line with that thought knowing that Series 3 in the US for instance was mainly released with that colored rub so that might´ve been around the same time the first Beasts hit Canada resulting in the fact they had Series 1 Beasts with this colored rub. BUT I´ve also seen Series 3 with the B&W rub (mainly from Japan) which opens up the idea that this colored rub design might have been created by the Hasbro (US) side of the BB line since I can´t even say for sure if this colored rub sign was actually available within Japan!?
I checked a couple of 100% sure Series 3 Beasts I have from Japan inside their original boxes and all of these have the B&W rub....

I was wondering if they were Canadian? A big portion of the Battle Beasts we have are from my girlfriends original child hood collection here in Canada. I only noticed the difference once I got a few lots from the USA.

Most of the first series Beasts that came with the chariots/bases/Bandolier that came out around the time of series 3 also had the updated rubs, many of those Beasts are also the ones with odd color variations like the pink crab/weasel and orange gorilla. My series 3s were random, the first two boxes i got had the new rubs, but the last box had the old rubs. I bought a few series 2 packs at that time as well and most of them were the old rubs, but there was a few scattered new rubs that were probably near the end of production. By that time I had all of series 1 so I wasn't buying those packs (and the free beasts in the bases/chariots were dupes) This was in the US.

I made a website a while back that shows the different ones. Also, you can see the originals if you want to compare to repros.

I can tell you that the original symbols were a helluvalot easier to reproduce than the fancy schmancy colored symbols
