Toy from 1985 - Please help

Robotech Macross 1985 Matchbox Plane Jet HGUSA Tatsu China Intl

Best Answer Grencats , 15 April 2015 - 11:13 AM

It is a Macross "ROBOTECH" Valkyrie figure. In the 80's Hasbro licensed the figure mold and released Transformers G1 Jetfire with it. So it is basically a G1 Jetfire with a different color scheme. A complete one would have armor to clip on and in the box could be worth a few hundred dollars. There are lots of reissues but I think this is a vintage one. http://www.ebay.com/...=item19fea122bf

Hi everyone, I'm new here and I've just been looking all over the place to figure out what this toy plane is from.  The bottom reads, "1985 HGUSA / Tatsu Matchbox Int'l LTD. Made in China".

The sticker on the sides of the nose read, "U.N. Spacy" and the stickers on the wings read, "U.S. Army 716S".

I'm sure it's missing some pieces that came with it but overall it's still in tact I believe.  As you can see in the pictures, the rear area where the burners would be (colored blue) can open and close.

I've seen some hints that it may be Robotech or Macross but nothing for certain.  I've had this since I was a kid but I don't know where it came from lol.

Any help is very appreciated.  I looked all over the internet and I'm surprised I haven't been able to find anything on such a large plane.  Thanks in advance!

It's a Macross toy... but I don't know much about the line so I can't be much more specific than that.

(I hope that helps)

Look up Robotech or Macross. They should be by either Bandai or Takara. Considering the stickers I would assume Robotech since that was the English / American title. These normally fetch a good money even for parts.

Is that a transformer of some sort? Damn those "jet engines" look significantly alike to many Starscream toys lol....

Oh, the tail piece folds out to reveal the tail wings. Careful though because it's very common for them to break with this piece.

It's the Robotech Matchbox VF-1S for use with their figure collection, it doesn't transform or anything and is pretty durable, there was only one re-issue and it was for the Exo-Squad stuff in the 90's

Nice find.
