Hi everyone, I hope you all had a happy Halloween. I'm looking forward to Christmas. Anyway, I wanted to run an Idea I've been mulling over lately by you guys to see what you think of it. I've been thinking about injection molding some M.U.S.C.L.E. sculpts but was wondering what you all think would be a good material for a hard mold for the process. I've got some Apoxie Sculpt and know it's pretty hard and durable when it sets up. Metal is out of the question, unless I somehow came across an original M.U.S.C.L.E. mold...Pretty unlikely I'd say. Do you all think Apoxie Sculpt would do the trick for a good master mold?

What do you want to recast?

Homebrew injection molding is very complicated and expensive. A hard mold needs to be very hard with no undercuts, or you will break your casting or mold pulling the figure.

It's cheaper to make a silicone mold and recast in Resin.

Yeah, on further research, I think you're right Eric. I'll probably go that route if I do any castings, or just commission a piece to be done that way. Seems to be the better and least expensive option of the two. Either that or 3-d printing.
