Okay, so far RubzOne, Doc_Moore_J, myself and theCrazyest are close too Sacramento. You guys want to meet for lunch on Saturday here in Sac. Killer chinese food (PF Changs) and I'll buy. Then we can swing by the spot I'm thinking of for MUSCLE Con afterwards. It's a block from Raley Field, Home of the Rivercats (oakland A's triple A team).

Hey:

I'm 30! How about the rest of you? ^_^ In all honesty seeing that this line of toys came out in the Eighties I figured that we'd all be in about the same age range (I could be wrong tho). ;)

Well I'm not THAT close, about a 10 hour drive away. I'm about to go to England and then Japan soon after I get back so now is a bad time for me, I have to sort out all these travel plans and get my passport taken care of

Killer chinese food (PF Changs) and I'll buy.

ah man, jerks! i want free chinese food. ;)
i was thinking of a name for the convention and since it would involve a lot of toy lines that aren't really remembered, i was thinking maybe something along the lines of: "the toys you threw away" or "forgotten toys" or "lost toys" etc. or something to that effecct. those aren't really good ideas and seem too long or common for me, but this is just to get the ball rolling...
any thoughts?

and Crayzest: a lot of us said our age in a different thread somewhere...

Yeah, I can see it all so clearly..

8:15pm talked about what to order
8:37pm decided that ChickenChowMein was out
8:52pm made the call to PFChangs

Seriously, I'm down with the idea I've got to check my calander to make sure that I'm not already booked by the Mrs to do something else. I'll let you know as soon as I do.

About the age thingy.. I think I got my post crossed (since I was in a hurry) :p sorry for the misUnderstanding.

hey RubzOne:
Where do you live in the Valley? I used to live out in Pacoima for a minute. B) i always went to VanNuys to eats at Mom'sBBQ! Geeze i miss that place.

dam it! i told my mom to STOP working the corner! sorry guys... :o

but a gaming room is a cool idea. i also like Darrin's idea about staying in a wrestling ring for 3 minutes with Kinnikuman to win prizes. that would be funny. wait, so is anybody getting together this weekend to talk about the convention with Johnny?

okay, so now it has been two weeks (about) since this topic was started. and where do we stand on this idea? has anything really changed? i don't think so. there are still a few who would liek to make it happeb, but they are still not enough. perhaps it was still too early to really consider a Muscle Convention. as this topic showed, there is still not nearly enough interest to have a Muscle Con or even begin planning one. my hope for now is that perhaps with the new Kinnikuman cartoon, there will be renewed interest and the promoters will set up a booth or display or something at an already established trade show/convention. maybe then we can move on from there. so until the time is right and the air is thick with cries of "Muscle Con!" and the smell of plastic pink men, i will patiently wait and hope for the future.....

-man, reading that back it sounds like some serious WWIII propaganda poster or something, sorry 'bout that.

Hey, give me 100 warm bodies, willing to sacrifice the travel to Sacramento and $30 cash at the door, and I'll show you one hell of a M.U.S.C.L.E. Con. Until then, this topic raised some really excellent ideas about a booth at a popular Comic-con or something. I'm beginning to think that that will our first step. I may move in that direction and try to allocate a booth at one.

yeah the 100 warm bodies seems to be the problem for now...
but the booth at the San Diego Comic Con or something would be great. try and generate some interest. get a local toy/comic store to sort of sponsor and promote it or something..... i live in Washington, but let me know about having a booth somewhere or something. i'll help if i can....

I don't think it's realistic to have a MUSCLE-exclusive convention right now, but what about having a few tables at an existing comic or toy convention like Doctor Dew was saying? If we get a few people to get a table at one and promote the online MUSCLE community, that might get the ball rolling.

It would be cool to have a laptop at the table with an Internet connection, so that the visitors could see some MUSCLE sites. Also, maybe we could have some pamplets with some basic MUSCLE facts and the addresses of MUSCLE sites. It would probably be a good idea to provide some of our extra MUSCLEs for sale there to get people hooked. I'm also envisioning a copy of the MUSCLE poster behind the table.

Perhaps this is but a pipe dream, though...

Actually it's a great idea. If anyone has a Con in there area, this would be awesome! AND.... a great build up to MUSCLECON 2003
