These are the White Castle and Long John Silver's Monster Wrestlers in My Pocket figures side by side. All of the figures are the same for both promotions.

The only difference is the packaging and the fact that White Castle included 2 in a pack, but Long John's separated them all.

I found this to be very odd, so I decided to share the picture with all of you.

I either didn't know or forgot those were released at LJS too. I got my set at the Castle as a kid.

Both places actually had some decent kids meal toys back then. Stone Protector mini figures at LJS, Godzilla, Universal Monster toys, etc at WC

I never knew about it either, but when I saw them on Ebay, I had to grab them. The Long John's toys also had a girl's version of the kid's meals that was Kitty in My Pocket. Since it was a complete set, I now have my first Kitty in My Pocket figures. And probably my last

A few years ago I had a pet baby squirrel named Simon. He would sometimes crawl into my pocket to sleep.

Just sayin' ;)

Don't feel bad. I live in the only state that is missing both of those stores. We are also missing Bank of America and Cracker Barrel... we always get the short end of the stick! lol

I've never even seen these before, are they just repaints of the regular figures? Or completely new sculpts?

They are much less detailed versions of the regular figures. I believe the sculpts are the same, but I haven't checked them side by side.

I believe the sculpt quality went down when compared to the standard wrestlers, as well as te paint apps. Check out the the pic below taken from a previous thread started by Rid. The guy on the right is meant to be Turbo. He basically looks like him, but just less of a quality sculpt. Almost like a bootleg.

Yeah, I always thought the sculpts were different. I believe they're smaller as well as less detailed. Here's a pic of all of them plus the WC pamphlet I took a while ago.

I guess I need to dig out the normal versions and compare them. When I do, I will add a picture

Thanks for the replies, I have to agree that the sculpts do look different, not just in detail but the poses.

If anyone could post side-by-side photos of the White Castle/Long John SIlver figures with the regular figures it would be very useful

Yep the sculpts are totally different. Here is the White Castle version beside the normal one:

Thanks Behemoth that's interesting to see. Weird how they made different sculpts when surely it would have been cheaper just to use the existing ones.

Like burty said they look like bootlegs really, a lot lower quality than the regular wrestler figures. Kinda like comparing the argentinian cromy figures to the regular MIMP

Yeah they are tremendously inferior by comparison. Like if you gave a kid Microsoft paint and the original sculpts and asked him to recreate them, this is probably what you would get.
