I got the itch to paint my lime green robinmask
Last week- it had a miscut leg joint which I fixed once I painted it. with my blank blue RM

My wife walked in as I was looking at that Atlantis picture and said, "Look at that sexy boy!" :-)

That skin tone surpasses any of the official color variations of this toy, in my opinion.

Thanks detectivefork! I’m sure your wife was talking about you and not the toy.

I’ve got possibly one more Kinnikuman figure to paint, then that’s it unless someone asks me to paint for them. Stay tuned!

I have a painted Atlantis M.U.S.C.L.E. figure that she's really fond of, come to think of it. Maybe we have a "Shape of Water" situation shaping up here. lol

Those paint jobs are phenomenal! One of the reasons why I also enjoy the solid color sofubi (the potential for custom paint jobs and one of a kind pieces).

Time for an update- Buffaloman!

Again, I wanted to go for something close to official colors, but still unique.  Metallic red with a purple spray on the chest to reference the 10,000,000 power version.

Please, let me know what you think, I hope you like him.

That is freaking phenomenal! I think the Metallic spray really makes it pop. Thank you for sharing!

That Buffaloman pops. All your customs do.

By the way, have you seen the brand new Convict version of Sunigator in his original colors? I don't think you can order from their site if you live outside Japan, but you can see it here (and below):

I love that Five Star Sunigator comes with a finger puppet of his "Claw" form so that you can use it on your own hand. Clever.

I saw that yeah, Sunigator however somehow falls into the "too ridiculous, even for me" catagory of kinnikuman characters.  Don't ask me how or why.  That being said, I'd love to see a fullsized Claw version come out, although I can only imagine what the secondary market prices on that would be...

I'm excited about the new Junkman figure, although I've heard a few less than stellar reports about it from some folks who got one.  But for whatever reason Junkman has always been a favorite, so I'll get one eventually.

What have you heard about Junkman? Is there something wrong with the construction?

My impression is that all the Five Star figures are pretty sturdy toys, but I'm honestly not certain. In your experience, does the paint on the officially painted figures hold up well?

I heard Junkman’s joints aren’t great (although that could be how each individual is cut) especially the shield/plates on his arms. And because of them and the way the legs are sculpted he’s prone to tipping over.

As for production painted versions I have no idea. I’ve never seen a fully painted version, but I’d assume it’s as good as any.
