Hey all,

Trying to remember a toy line that I had as a kid... I'm going through a lot of old boxes and I started remembering these figures. I haven't found them yet or I would post a picture. Actually if I found them I'm sure I could figure it out myself.

So maybe you can help!

They were full sized action figures I want o say maybe 7 inches? Definitely 80's. The gimmick was that they had a a flint thing in their chests that made sparks. Like those old toy guns that shoot sparks. The also hade a plastic sort of translusant piece that would fit around the figure (made the sparks look cooler)...

Any ideas?

I think the figure I had was light blue... And then the plastic shell was a translucent orange?

Thanks!

Google tells me "Blackstars," a he-man knock off.

They sound cool, but I never owned any of them.

Thank you for the response! Somehow I lost this thread... That's why it took me so long to respond.

I remember a Blackstar cartoon back I. The day. Man those Filmation cartoons were GREAT!

Unfortunately those aren't the ones that I am thinking of... I'm going back home to go through some more boxes of toys in October so I hope and can find what I am describing then. These were a little taller that MOU or what I I Blackstar was. But yes, good call on the Blackstar because they have the whole flint/ lighter spark thingy...

So maybe there is another line that used it too.

Thanks for the research Oldgamer!!

Oh I don't know if this helps but if memory serves it was around the same height as a Lion-O fig from Thundercats...

Power Lords: Never owned any of these guys, but it looks like the one on the far right has some sort of holographic/gimmicky thing in its chest.

Nope - neither one... Those aren't them. And I know it's not a crystar... And I think it's a bit bigger than crystar.

Damn, I'm gonna have to wait til I get back to Indiana and hopefully find a figure I can take a pic of now lol...

Any other ideas?

Those Power Lords look cool though!

I have some of these power lords - the middle orange one (who changes into a blue one) and the blue monster on the right - that one has a reflective sticker on his belly but as far as i remember nothing else - no sparks :-)

also every blackstar figure was released with or without the spark effect - every figure had 2 versions (i have a few of those blackstars figures as well)

both blackstar and star lord (which was later adapted to a marvel character called adam warlock) are approx the same height - about the same as a thundercats figure

Since I'm going from memory - from a very long time ago... Nothing over seen so far rings As bell. However, I'm hoping that the figure turns up when I go back to my parents house in October.

Mastasini- that's a really cool factoid About Adam Warlock! I had no idea! So are you saying it was a toy first before they adapted the character into comics? He's a major player in the galactic side of the Marvel Universe!

It's funny ... It's all I could think about this week. As soon as I get home, not matter what time and how much jet lag... I want to go out to the garage and dig into the ol' toy chest (that's where I suspect it's hiding) and find the damn thing!!

FINALLY GOT PICS!!

Um... Ok I think I was imagining this (because I was doing it from memory) with more blue on it... But the only blue is the light colored blue skin of what looks to be a vaguely elfish face. There's a spark thingy in the back so that if the sparks were done you can see them through the translucent orange. Can someone tell me for the love of god what the hell this is?

TY!

Oldgamer84 said that it sounded like a Blackstar, but in the pictures I saw... I didn't see this figure. My bad!

Oldgamer if you read this, you were right!! Thank you!

And Riddler, thank you for clarification!! The pic/ link you shared showed the arms being removable... That's a big help because I found a arm floating around in the toy box too and I couldn't figure out what it went to.

The spark thingy doesn't work, so I don't know how sought after it would be in this condition. Maybe I'll poke around on Ebay and see what it's going for.

Thanks for everything all that contributed to the this thread! Put a fork in it...
