I have a few questions about Series 4 MIMP. I want to address them in my MIMP Collecting guides as well as for my own curiosity. Any help will be credited.

1. Is there a general consensus that Pink is a separate color from Purple in series 4? If so, was every figure made in purple also made in Pink?

2. Is there a list of Unpainted or Partial Painted variants? I found one old thread about it, but it didn't say much.

3. Was every figure made in Hard Plastic as well as rubber? I have a hard Astaroth, but no other hard figures.

I never understood the pink vs. purple thing for Series 4. Is there actually a pink color? I have only seen regular purple and a slightly lighter purple.

I think it is debatable whether it is a separate color or not. They could just be faded purple ones or different rubber. I don't know if anyone has really looked into it or not.

Here are pictures of the difference (some are not this drastic).

Thanks for that. They do look pinkish in those photos.

I'm no mimp expert, by any means, but that definitely looks like two different colors to me.

The harder thing about it is that there are shades between the two. Check out the Closet Monster and Slaughterford below:

Purple

Pink

Purple

Pink

They still look different, but not as much as the others. Also the color difference doesn't seem consistent as some spots look purple in the pink figures.

As for the unpainted ones, I believe this is the full list of 10. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Thunderdell - neon green
Yama - neon green
Wurdulac - neon green
Lamia - neon yellow
Fachen - neon yellow
Alu - neon yellow
Astaroth - neon red
Jenny Greenteeth - neon red
Creature from the Closet - purple
Drude - purple

Much appreciated Frank. I think that matches what I have, but I will check my sheet.

Pretty sure it is just discoloration due to different production materials and/or UV light. Same for the 'hard' versions.

I always used monster collecting for a guide. I think there were only two I never found.

Going by those photos, you can already see the purple Closet Creature turning pink. Same with Slaughterford too I'd say.

I never ever recalled seeing pink figures in the boxed sets or single packs as a kid, nor when re-collecting these a decade ago on ebay. So it's without shadow of a doubt faded purple.

Sorry to disappoint bud!

The problem with them being a discoloration, is that there would be transit pieces too. There would be half pink / purple figures if that was the case. I doubt every figure would turn solid colors without anyone seeing the middle stage.

I think if you look at Behemoth's post above showing Creature From the Closet and Slaughterford, those could be considered transit pieces. Still pretty much purple, but more pink than the standard purple color.

I think 80schild actually has a point. If we simply cut a pink double in half, we could actually know. I will check to see if I got a double laying around at home,

Actually them being the same color would be fine with me. I just want to know one way or the other. It would probably make my collecting life easier if they are one color actually.
