So I'm in need of help. Some of you may have seen or heard about the drama regarding the SHA that was recently up in a board auction.
Long story short the seller wanted a bank transfer which I reluctantly agreed to. I had the money transferred and for whatever reason he couldn't withdraw the funds.

So we're having to work out another form of payment. He won't do PayPal goods and services saying the seller always gets screwed if there's a dispute. He is only willing to do it friends and family.

As much as I want the figure I'm not going through that again. I already gambled once and came out unharmed.

Is there anyone near or know someone near Hamilton , Ontario???
That could possibly do a transaction in person??
I can offer a reward or compensation for any trouble.

Thanks for any help
Sincerely,
Nick

All of this sounds shady as eff, as though it wasn’t going to ever happen without leaving you open to a scam. Even if you find a Canadian willing to help, I suspect something will regrettably come up the day of the exchange.

I'v been holding off saying this, but SHA isn't worth this much trouble. All these hoops you have to jump through shouldn't be happening. Let someone else buy and deal with it. We're not going to see you in a negative light if you decide to not go through with this.

If you are going to keep on with it for the figure, then I hope everything works out and you get that SHA!

You may be better off trying to work out a way to pay half up front goods and services and then the rest friends and family after delivery. I've done some large transactions online in the thousands and have always offered to do things that way and most people are fine with that. Even if you do find someone in Canada how are you going to know if they're legit anyway?

Maybe.

I will be in Canada for work next week. My schedule is ever-changing, so it makes it hard to say I can 100% do it. I will be one hour from Hamilton.

Thank you for all the feedback and advise.
I do understand this is pretty shady the way it all played out.

I do know that this price is too high for the figure and the headache. That being said I'm fanatical for M.u.s.c.l.e and the lore of low number production figures.

This is literally the 3rd SHA, this year, that I will have missed out on.
So I'm exhausting all my options within reason...its too far for me to drive :)

It would be incredible if you could possibly help me out. Thanks for reaching out. Keep me posted. I'm going to message the seller and ask him a few more questions.

Thanks again,
Nick

I know I'm not saying anything profound, but making the buyer go through SOOOOOOOOOOOO much after offering you $600 for a few ounces of unwanted plastic is quite strange.

My nervous brain says keshi or custom, but I hope I'm wrong.

I'm sure you are having private correspondence with the seller, but he has maintained radio-silence here on the LRG since the auction, despite the fact there has been all this chatter about the situation. According to his profile, he was last logged on this morning. So I presume he has seen these threads. I'm not suggesting he isn't on the up-and-up, but if I were the seller, having seen these threads I would have posted here explaining my side of the situation. Who knows, maybe the members here might have even eased any concerns I had about doing the deal as goods & services and allowing you to pay the fees.

I'm kinda in agreement with that sentiment. Anyther option would be for someone that's beyond repute to act as an intermediary and have the money and SHA go through them. They would have to remail the item again so there would be some added costs but it would at least be an impartial third party to verify the item and hold the friends and family payment in the mean time.

Edited to make sense

That seems like a prudent and reasonable plan. Has anything like that ever been done here? Someone holding the items/payment in escrow until everything is verified etc?

Thank you
