Just wondering if all BEB figures have that little cut out square bit with the copyright lgti and year part, or their number on them somewhere?

I've got a beb figure that has neither, is this just an earlier version or a bootleg or such?

both the ones i had did, it had china with 3 initials i think and the number, possibly twice, one bigger and slightly further over. my memory is a little hazey so i could be mistaken.

i was reading some old BEB threads recently and someone mentioned someone on lrg offering bootlegs of every figure. speak to that person and find out if theirs has info on. the thread is here

Strange, those cutoms he said were in flesh colour, this one I have is dark purple, soft rubber and definitely squidgy like beb rubber. Its not got any dubious mold lines either that some customs have. It was sold by leviathan on ebay and I know he collects them but it certainly has no number or cut out rectangle on it.

the way i took it was that he chose a full set in flesh, rather than they were only available in flesh, but eric has 1 from that person and said it did have writing so we can probably rule them out.

does anyone know what material the csmhoff customs were made from? and if they still make them?

i take it you have asked leviathan if he knows anything about it?

on another note, people thinking about buying soft/rubber blue BEB should read this, about 12 posts down.

well the customs were done in all different colors, but were made of resin not rubber.

im sure yours is real, maybe that particular sculpt is missing the notch. my soft beb has the notch but the writing isnt in it.

Sounds cool, both of mine with the notch have writing on so quite interesting yours doesn't. Shame theres not a lot of decent info on the toyline and those who have lots of them don't write about them it seems

Well that sucks, the thing is it is soft rubber, has no dodgy flash that some bootleg stuff has and it has signs of that seepy liquid that was mentioned on the thread Neil linked to. Having looked really closely I can see a number 10 on it, but certainly no cut out part. I can take some photos if anyone wants to have a look at it?

I really, really don't think it's a boot. But the first thing to do would be to find out where the rectangle should be on that sculpt surely! Unfortunately I don't have that sculpt so I can't help there.

that sculpt- gatoregger doesnt have a cut out but should have tiny raised letters on the tail underneath the figure '1992 LGTI CHINA'.

As for the missing text, its quite likely the softie didnt hold the detail- the ones i've seen have much less detail than the hardies, and as the lettering is very subtle it could have not come out. But is likely an original figure (not one of my customs either).

Bad eggz rule! :D
