Eligibility & Participation
- To be eligible, users must have been an LRG member prior to the start of this thread on 12/11/2014.
- The 'Forever Yes' tradition states that the winner will start the next contest, but since there will be more than one prize the player who destroys the Battleship will be responsible for starting the next contest.
- Limit one prize per member. If you sink a ship, further shots will not be counted in order to allow others a chance to win a prize.
Rules
- Each player has up to five shots to try and sink a ship for one of five prizes. Like a normal game of Battleship, the grid will contain the following ships:
- Aircraft Carrier (5)
- Battleship (4)
- Submarine (3)
- Destroyer (3)
- Patrol Boat (2)
- Each entry post should consist of one letter/number combination indicating your desired shot. (e.g. E5)
- Players are allowed to take one shot per calendar day, determined by midnight (00:00) CST (-6 GMT)
- I will keep track of the thread and try my best to update the grid each morning. A 'last updated' date is embedded in the game grid to make it obvious. Time will be listed in 24-hour format. The answer key was uploaded to a date stamped imaging service at the start of the contest for validation.
- If a shot is taken and fails to hit a target, the grid space will be filled in blue; if a ship is hit the grid space will be filled in red.
- If a ship is destroyed, I will make a post announcing which ship, who sunk it, and request the winner to contact me via PM with shipping information.
- The contest will run from 01/01 through 01/15, or until all ships have been sunk (whichever comes first)
Prizes!
- All prizes will be mixed blind bags of toys of varying volume, based on the type of ship destroyed.
- Win a bonus prize for sinking the Battleship!
- Photos of the prizes will be posted before the end of the contest. (soon!)
Tips
- Since this isn't real-time, it's important to check the date stamp on the grid before taking your next shot.
- If I'm unable to update the grid and previous shots haven't been recorded, you may still take your shot-per-day, though strategically it'd be better to make your daily guess after the board has been updated .
- Don't forget to refresh...
