I'd like to know the origin of these figures... Where did they come from and who made them?

Also, I realize the irony of inquiring about little metal guys on Littlerubberguys.com :D

I debated posting in the toy ID section, but this seemed more appropriate... Admins/council please move as appropriate.

I realize these are not everyone's cup of tea, but I dig them and would love to know more about them.

Have I C.Y.A.'d enough? Hah :D

Now to the meat...
They are metal not rubber, kinnikuman-themed 1 inch figures. All but 2 of them came from Japan.

I've inquired with a few knowledgeable kinnikuman & muscle heads, but haven't gotten any definitive information. Likewise, I've looked on LRG, but haven't found any posts discussing where they were produced... Please point me in the right direction if I've missed anything. (The pewter topics link no longer has pictures).

I've heard Taiwanese bootlegs... but only as a theory. That's the closest I've come.

Thoughts?

D.

These ones are Not official, bootlegs in Japan. Sold in capsules. I see these in yaj all the time. (I have buffaloman from this set)

The official ones are the actual kinkeshi sculpts, just metal.

Thanks Eric! Man, is there anything about keshi, Japanese figures that you don't know? "The Oracle of Keshi". Hah :)

We talked about them possibly being from Taiwan a few years ago... Please let me know if you ever have extras... Bootleg or official release. Especially a Buffaloman.

How many of the bootlegs were produced? Is there a website that shows the complete set?

What could I expect to pay for the higher quality official ones?

Cheers!
