When I started collecting M.U.S.C.L.E. figures in 1985, I came across small white M.U.S.C.L.E. knockoffs. They were not bootlegs per se, as this company had made new characters, although they were clearly inspired by M.U.S.C.L.E.
They were off-white, smaller, made from cheap softer rubber, and got dirty quickly. I picked them up at a school book fair.
I don't have them anymore, but I recall some of my favorites:
A masked "robber", his head kinda looked like Hamburgler.
A masked strongman with ripped abs like (at the time) Ravishing Rick Rude.
A bumble bee wrestler that looked similar to Master of the Universe's Buzz-Off.
A Captain Caveman copy.
An Egyptian.
Stereotypical Asian characters, similar to Mongolman.
Wondering if anyone remembers these or has any info about what they were.
